We stayed here for 2 nights to attend the Robbie Williams concert in Sandringham. A nice place to stay and breakfast was ok if you wanted a cooked one. There were no pastries or croissants when we arrived at 8.15am. The car park was tricky to find and we had to call for the postcode as it’s different from the front of the hotel.

The Bull Hotel is ideally situated in central Peterborough and has a good-sized car park at the back. Reception provided an adequate service but the best service we received was in the bar and also in the breakfast room where staff were very attentive and efficient. Our room was down a separate ground floor annexe-like corridor and although it was spacious it was sparsely decorated and didn't feel homely, unlike the rooms we've previously stayed in which were located in the main older part of the building. Also the one and only tap in the bathroom had a sprinkler attached and was most annoying as it almost gave you a shower every time you tried to wash your hands - we did mention this to reception! We had drinks in the bar in the evening - a good variety of cocktails on the menu. Breakfast food was great quality and staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Had afternoon tea booked for our Anniversary today , when we arrived at the Bull hotel Peterborough the waitress was very stern looking and with manners to match We went for the sparkling afternoon tea, the tea arrived and at first looked lovely . Starting with the sandwiches, little or no filling and marg about an inch thick , warm scone was next , so dry and tasteless. Then the plate of bite size cakes , we’re not what we expected also so very dry , we only ate one each . The disappointment of such a terrible tea , when asking the receptionist for the head office contact info she said I don’t have a clue actually which about sums up the experience, it will be a very long time before I endure an afternoon tea after todays visit

Polite staff member showed us to our table . My tea plate had food piece from previous setting. Staff member apologised and gave me a clean tea plate. My husband picked his plate up to find food stuck to bottom and to table . Called staff she again apologised swapped plate and wiped table with a napkin. She then bought us two glasses of fizz and apologised. Unfortunately as this had been a gift for special occasion it spoilt the whole experience. Food was nice but very small one bite size cakes .

Lovely hotel, The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room we stayed in was nice and cool on a hot day as well as being extremely clean. Breakfast was delicious.

We were invited to our niece's wedding here. The moment we stepped inside the luxurious setting (beautifully cool on a hot day) we were made to feel welcome. The staff were attentive and everything was provided for. It was a beautiful venue for a wedding. The reception food was absolutely amazing, and everything ran smoothly. Can highly recommend.

Had a lovely one night stay at The Bull. The location is ideal and just a short walk to shops restaurants and bars. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Their was air conditioning/cooling in the room which worked well and kept the room cool on a hot weekend. There was plenty of tea/coffee; and toiletries provided in the bathroom which had a bath and separate shower. The hotel is beautifully decorated and the staff were friendly. We had a few drinks in the bar and breakfast the following morning. Overall this hotel is great value for money given the location and I would definitely stay again. The car park is to the rear of the hotel with a separate post code which you can find on the hotel website.

One night stay. Lovely hotel, very ornate and very clean. Helpful and friendly staff, so absolutely no complaints there. The car park is also a public car park and was completely full when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, we had to wait until a space was vacated. Lovely clean bedroom, but wow was it hot. No air conditioning, and the window only opened about 4". A table fan was provided and it did its best but really only made a noise rather than affect the temperature. Got zero sleep as a result. Nice buffet style breakfast served by friendly staff. Wouldn't stay again in the summer months.

The place was very busy with afternoon tea guests and only one poor waitress was on duty to serve us all. She did very well to try and keep all guests happy. The food was nice enough, but it was clearly made well in advance as the sandwich bread was dry. The warm scone was just the ticket, as were the mini pastries. All in all a nice tea for the price we paid, thank you.

We stayed here for two nights at the start of June. Our map app found it difficult to locate the car park but we called the hotel and the staff gave us really helpful landmarks that then guided us past the library then through an arch and then on our way in. On arrival we were given our key card which felt like an art form to use, a nice slow swipe, leaving it to register at the bottom sent the door green! The room we stayed in was a bit dated but I personally thought for the price, it does what it needs to do. A bit of flaking plaster around the top of bedroom window and a couple of other touch ups and I do not think i would be mentioning it being dated. Another kind of disappointment was the bed felt quite small, if someone told me it was a Queen or a King I would be telling them to check their purchase receipt. On the first night we decided to pop downstairs to the bar and have some drinks. It was a quiet Friday night and I think it is fair to say there seemed to be a bit of atmosphere between some members of Staff. Throughout our stay across both mornings Staff were talking about other staff members' poor performance which, if you like the drama, fair play. However, it did not seem like a very 'four star' hotel thing to do and overheard team supervisors planning out where staff were going to be and discussing mistakes that had happened during breakfast service as 'no point crying over split milk' and 'it is what it is' also hearing the supervisor say 'I'm going to have that last hash brown at the end of breakfast' to the team was pretty unprofessional. Saying all of that, all staff we had direct interaction with were absolutely lovely and really gave great service but 'washing dirty linen' in public definitely gave off an unprofessional vibe. Overall, it's a hotel that is cheap in cost and the food was really good. If you're passing through, and need somewhere to sleep in Peterborough give it a go, not the best place I have ever been to but also not the worst. Could do with a bit of work and some team building exercises!!

We booked a two night stay with a three course evening meal on the first night and breakfast on two nights, the food was very good and the service was excellent the room was comfortable with toiletries supplied . The hotel was situated in the centre of the city close to the cathedral it was good value for money , the only issue we had was finding the car park at the back of the hotel on fitzwilliam street which as a ramp part way up the street a notice board situated on broad way would be help full

We stayed for 2 nights, the room and facilities were great and met our expectations. The food in the restaurant was really great with a good selection and the quality excellent. The main disappointment was the restaurant staff. On our first night we arrived for our booked time in the restaurant to find that we weren’t expected despite checking in and booking dinner 5hrs earlier. The member of staff seemed to be thinking they were getting off work early because they thought we had cancelled (which we hadn’t), the service was then rushed and we felt like an inconvenience. A similar thing happened the second night and a relaxed 3 course meal was done in under an hour (we took our desserts back the room as the female member of staff seemed to be under the impression that this was somehow “fast food” and there was no space to take our time and enjoy the lovely food! We reported this when we checked out and received a verbal apology. The member of staff said they would look into this and escalate it with her line manager. I asked for some feedback which the staff member said they would do. A week and a half later and I’m still waiting for this feedback. Rather disappointed with the situation and lack of follow up.

Took a friend for afternoon tea as a treat. Very impressed. Staff were cheerful, helpful and attentive. Lovely selection, presented in style. Charming young lady waitress. Will definitely be going again. Big thank you to the staff involved right from the young man who took the telephone table booking.

We stayed here for two nights last weekend and ate in the restaurant one night. The room, staff, and hotel were all very good. It is right in the centre of town and has a great free car park. Very good value for money and an excellent evening meal. The breakfast was good too (even though whether it was table service or self-service wasn't very obvious on the first morning). I would recommend this hotel for a stay and for food.
