Been coming here for years but just lately we’ve been very disappointed. Once before the chips were like they’d been left over from lunch as they were really dry and today the fish was like it was left over from lunchtime and just warmed up. The batter was thick and hard and what fish there was was dry and hard, obviously not cooked fresh. Such a shame as we are usually pleased with the quality.

Excellent customer service. Delicious food. Cooked fresh to order. Fair price.

We ordered large cod and large chips, and both were very large. The quality and price are very good. Can recommend ?

Been coming here for almost a decade. Never left a review, which is unfortunate because they deserve one. Posting now to correct that mistake!Excellent chippy - always fresh cooked food, piping hot, and using excellent products.Prices are fair, portions are generous. Can’t ask for more!Parking: Parking directly outside is difficult. Need to park on the road or in the estate opposite which isn’t ideal.

Food was lovely but there was a large group of very noisy young people drinking outside having races in the carpark which completely spoilt our evening

Travelling back with a colleague her electric car informed us there was a decent kWatt charger at this location where we were fortunate it had a beautifully presented pub! But we were fortunate that our waitress Maddy was also incredibly accommodating and attentive whilst we had dinner completely unplanned. She went above and beyond! Although there were other staff around she seemed to be left to it all and a little rushed off her feet but she kept herself calm and collected, upselling to a comfortable level! Ask for Maddy!!! And definitely have the chocolate fondant!

A solid 4 all round… We ate here on Sunday as we are moving to the area so thought we’d try out one of our new locals. The decorations are very nice and modern. It’s a very inviting and comfortable space. The waiting staff were very friendly and they were quick with drinks orders and checking on us during our visit. The food was very good indeed. Eating on Sunday 3 of us had the roast beef and the quality was very good. Not just the beef but the vegetables too. The Yorkshire puddings looked good, but the fat needs changing as they had a taste similar to a doughnut from the fair… not unpleasant but a bit unusual. We will definitely be trying this place on a different day to try a variety of dishes from the main menu.

A hidden gem you have to visit! ? Let’s start with the restaurant: I’m in love with the decor, you can sit by the bar which has a cosy vibe to it or in a brighter setting with skylights.. both were stunning. They also have a lovely garden area! The food we had: Starters: • Homemade warm scotch egg serviced with Dijon mustard - this was yummy and went really well together ? • Camembert with garlic served with red wine & plum chutney & sourdough bread - cheesey goodness, absolutely delicious ? Mains: • Salmon with garlic & chervil potato cake, kohlrabi & fennel salad with pomegranate vinaigrette- a gorgeous plate of food, the Porto cake was moreish!?? • Chimmichurri chicken with fries, lemon aioli, watercress & pickled shallot salad - the flavour on the chicken was punching in every bite, soooo good! ? Dessert: • Banana creme brûlée served with a soft ginger cookie & lime toffee - WINNER, you need to order this.. you will not be disappointed! Absolutely delicious ?? • Red velvet cheesecake with strawberry compote & meringue drops - sweet, yummy dessert ? Onto the bedroom: The rooms are super cute with their own names on the door, we stayed in ‘Bluejack’. I couldn’t fault it in anyway. You have complimentary shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser and also your milk, coffee & tea. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were lovely & quiet at night too. Breakfast: • Champ hash with pork & herb sausages, fried egg & black pudding - what a gorgeous combo, spot on! ? • Brioche bun with maple & mustard ham, avocado, fried egg & tomato relish - a top favourite, this was incredibly tasty.. highly recommend ? Thank you so much to Jacob & team for your incredible service ?

We have been here before & ok but last night was terrible. When looking at the menu we were told several items weren’t available which is ok as they had been busy & the food was fresh. However, after placing our orders it took half an hour to bring 2 soups & a dish of olives for starters, then another hour before a young waiter appears to say they had no roast beef which 3 out of 4 of us had ordered! During the hour waiting we had seen at least 2 others tables arrive, order & served roast beef! We demanded to speak to the manager who came out & said the beef was fatty & overcooked so they could not serve it! What rubbish! If it was in that state why had they served it to others around us & it’s our choice whether we want to eat it rare or well done- they had simply not managed the orders & served what should have been ours to other people, as they took so long to serve us! Bad management, awful service & we were not the only ones complaining, they could do nothing right for anyone!!
