“Had a lovely meal here last night. Small table in the main bar area, but that was a problem. I had pâté to start, with lamb chops to follow. Very generous portion of pâté, so much so, that we took some home for Poppy, though William snagged some. And I couldn’t finish the lamb either, though I heartily recommend the fried sliced new potatoes, that came with it. And the gravy!! Karen had garlic mushrooms to start and spicy noodles for main. Both delicious and the noodles especially were a very generous portion. Am looking forward to coming back and trying the steaks.”

“Food and drink was great, service for breakfast was slow considering the tiny numbers in the room for food but breakfast was good. The room is stayed in had a horrid smell from the bathroom like blocked drains but went away after an hour or 2. Beds feel cheap and not hotel quality. Rooms are okay and have what you need but in general the poor bed and cramped bathroom with smell gave this a lower rating.”

“Stayed here for three nights in June. Rooms are acceptable, comfortable bed, tea and coffee facilities, hair dryer and TV. Nice powerfull shower, complimentary shampoo.
The bar had a good selection of beers and drinks at reasonable prices served by nice bar staff,
The food is good with a bar menu during the day and a restaurant the evening.
Sunday lunch is a carvery with a choice of four meats and a good selection of vegetables which you help yourself to. You may need to book a table for this.
We had a pleasant stay and would not hesitate to return.”
