Without a doubt the most disappointing venue in the city! We arrived for a 15:00hr meal at 14:45. Having introduced ourselves, we ordered drinks. 15:00 came and went by which time it became necessary to 'grab' one of the many staff, asking about the delay in seating us (the appointed table had been prepared). None of the three staff seemed to know what was going on and we were given contradictory answers. We sat at 15:15 and, after some time received bread, olives etc. and wine. We also received a dead fly in the glassware. The first course did not arrive until shortly after 16:00. The main course was delivered one hour later however, the dessert arrived just after the main plates were removed. The venue was extremely cool! So much so that the ladies were obliged to put coats around them. Every one (7) was cold and asked the sommelier to adjust the temperature control to a more ambient 21oC . Nothing happened! We continued with coffee and, thoroughly discontented left, £470 lighter. A complete shambles and subsequently, overpriced. The inefficiency and ineptitude of the staff and their procedures cannot be overstated. No one could be identified as being 'in charge' and, although the food was acceptable, the experience was not. None of our party will be repeating the experience again unless of course they adopt a serious overhaul of the practices and procedures.

Have left messages 5/6 times now, over the last fortnight to book a table. No one has rung back. Hope food is better than customer service.

Attention to detail, great service ( thanks Joe) these combined with imaginative flavours and exquisitely cooked locally sourced ingredients…you are guaranteed a surprise!

4 years ago I gave 4 stars, the new move has been a good change. No faults at all, a new top end restaurant has landed. Hooray for us.

Food is full of flavour and suitable portions for mains. Service is fantastic, Leila was very patient with us (we have a toddler), she made sure we were comfortable and looked after. The rest of the staff were also very attentive and friendly, always addressing us with a smile and in a polite way. We'll definitely be back!

Firstly the service is very good. However a chef /owner who can’t accept feedback who is unreasonable when dishes are sent back , as inedible due to poor quality of venison and cookery skills , Producing food that can’t be digested due to fat , because of a cheap cut of venison . When the plate is left , the arrogant owner , refuses to take off the bill , at the expense of the 10% service charge , when the only good part of the evening was the service . And the service charge was equal to the £36 charge for chewy venison . Overall, busy, good bar , good service, But a chef/ owner who is not as good as he thinks he is , needs to treat the customers with respect . As we have a voice and pay at the end of the day . But he’s far to arrogant to accept any feed back . Also a table of 2 , that books a private table , for a 25 th wedding anniversary, placed between 2 large noisy Christmas party tables , where you can’t hear each other , when served food that can’t be digested , With the current attitude of owner /chef , i doubt he will last the length of the lease , This was the 2nd time of going to the new born restaurant, but there will not be a 3rd time Purely to the attitude of the owner who clearly does not respect the staff or the customers. Avoid , there are so many better restaurants in Chester, With zero recognition for a anniversary booking via open table

Our favourite local restaurant by far. Never lets us down ✨

I was concerned this place wouldn’t be as good as the smaller cafe but it was excellent. I had the beetroot starter, duck Christmas dinner and the chocolate fondant. They were all delicious, interesting and cooked to perfection. The fondant was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The sommelier that served was superb, sorry not sure what his name, but he enhanced the day. Thanks will come again, highly recommended to anyone.Vegetarian options: There was a vegan menu. The nut roast was excellent

Truly excellent, this restaurant carries its splendid standards of service, food and wine with an easy confidence. All the best of its former tiny city centre premises are on show here and somehow the staff still build an air of intimacy. Not a dish to do anything but enthuse about. We had a lovely time and will of course be back….again. You haven’t been? Oh, you really should.

Absolute rip off, tiny dishes at extortionate prices , first and last time we will ever be ripped off by this place, if you compare this place to opera grill or Rio on the same street there is definitely no comparison. We spent approximately £114.00 and both myself by and my partner was still hungry when we left.

Food was great, but too limited the table. This place is let down by the toilet and uncomfortable seating. The toilets are disgusting genderless loo’s! I have no idea why anyone thinks this nonsense is a good idea!!! It’s not, no lady wants to go to a toilet, have to touch the loo to put the seat down and try to stand over the seat, while struggling to not step in mens urine. Also why do the disabled loos get put as far away from any other loo, this just makes it extremely difficult, for people struggling to walk. Also it’s way too bright and seating is extremely uncomfortable. For that reason won’t go again
