We visited on the first Saturday in January for breakfast, having booked in advance. We all enjoyed the English Breakfast - which was freshly cooked, tasty and clearly made using quality ingredients. The service was attentive and friendly. One of our servers had just started working at Marmalade that day, and she too was brilliant. Thanks for a great experience, Marmalade!

Always reserve a table as it is always busy. This tells you everything. The quality of the food is truly amazing. The staff are lovely and the whole experience is brilliant. It’s our go-to place when we visit our son at university. The chilli jacket potato is to die for!

Don't know why we've never been here before but we've righted that wrong now. Lovely staff and great food, nice temperature, volume of music spot on, gives the place a lovely vibe. Very busy but good room between the tables and lovely owner who is very much hands on. Will absolutely definitely be back.

One can only presume that this "cafe" is as good as it's cracked up to be as you need a "reservation" (it's a cafe!) to get breakfast at 0930 on a Monday.

First time visiting Marmalade today, lovely little coffee shop and very popular place, I can see why as our toasties and pannini were delicious. coffee was very good too. This is now our new favourite coffee shop in Chester.

We were really lucky to walk in and get a table for two the other day. The full English breakfast was beautiful but when I'm next in Chester I would definitely book a table in advance as a number of people were unfortunately turned away due to no spaces.

I never write reviews but this is certainly the place that deserves a review, absolutely fantastic, we had the full English breakfast and muffin with scrambled eggs, hand on heart the local sausage and bacon are on another level ! Excellent value for money !You’d be mad not try it

A lovely warm, small cafe with super helpful and friendly staff. The tomato and pepper soup was delicious, and the chicken, chorizo and cheese panini was equally yummy. The cafe is dog friendly, with additional seating upstairs.

Lovely little dog friendly cafe. We popped in for lunch, luckily got a table as it was very popular that day might be worth booking. They have a hot chocolate menu! Honeycomb hot chocolate is amazing. Good choice of food. Recommend the broccoli and Stilton soup and coronation chicken sandwich. The staff were very friendly and made a fuss of our dog and gave her a treat.

We visited twice for breakfast and found the ambiance upstairs really cosy for such a central location. The full breakfast was delicious, with high quality local ingredients, while the coffee warranted a second cup. The staff are very friendly and made us feel welcome.
