I can see some bad reviews saying the food is always late? This is because when i went to pick up an order for one of these delievry companies i work for, I waited 10 minutes until somebody came and spoke to me whilst I was waiting. Bare in mind there was no customers. There was 2 guys outside just chatting away, me thinking they were just random people but after 10 minutes 1 of them comes in and then asks me what I needed. Avoid this place slow service and just people right outside the shop, anybody else would feel intimidated walking in-between them to go inside the shop

The cigarette smoke Iun this store was too much for me. Papa John’s staff were smoking right outside the Chester store so the smoke was blowing into the store. I mentioned it to the person serving me but they said it was just blowing in, as if that was acceptable. The staff were also wearing Papa John’s T shirts. It was very unpleasant going into the store. This was 5:20pm 5/9/2023. Had I not placed the order online and already paid, I would not have stayed. Had I been ordering in store I would have left, I would have been unable to stay in the store long enough to wait due to the cigarette smoke. Not only was this a poor advertisement for Papa John’s but I would not want to eat pizza made by someone with cigarette smoke and ash on their clothing. I hope they at least wear aprons that they take off before they smoke. We were not given an estimated time to pick-up, we had to wait until it said ready. The pizza had not been kept warm in the time it took us to get there so the pizza was only luke warm.It would be helpful to be given an estimated time when the order is placed so that customers may leave earlier and aim to arrive when the pizza is ready. Traffic was quite bad in Chester at 5pm and it took us some time to get there. The pizza was delicious, if a little cold, so it’s shame I will be unable to visit the Chester store again because of cigarette smoke. I am asthmatic and cigarette smoke is one of my triggers.

Papa Johns have lost their way!Papa John used to be our go to place for Pizza, that is until they became incapable of fulfilling orders. Around 12 months ago we ordered a Vegan breakfast Pizza only to be told on collection that they didn’t have the correct base sauce so they used basic tomato; it tasted horrible. This along with other errors and poor service made us decide not to this branch again. Last weekend we decided to give them another go, only to order the vegan breakfast pizza again and be told they no longer do it, despite it being available to order online. Allegedly the area manager has been made aware of this item still being available to order online without actually being available, but choose not to have this amended. No wonder the stores service has dropped, it’s not a great example to your staff, and puts them in the awkward position of having to explain why they can’t fulfil an order.We ended up ordering from Dominoes, great service and they have never failed to complete an order. The sad thing is it wouldn’t take much to fix these issues if they only they tried.

Nearly 3 hours and nothing has turned up. Told they were very busy but when we checked an hour in they were taking orders for 30 minutes later on the website. Horrendous service. If you are overwhelmed stop taking orders.

Lack of available sizes. The dough is apparently made fresh, but is also apparently delivered ‘in the middle of the night’ so some sizes weren’t available (at 9pm). Not as good as I remember, price wasn’t bad. Quality was average.

Recently they have gotten worse and worse - late deliveries and cold pizzas. Most recently my order was placed and 45 min later a call to say due to delivery driver issues it will be another 1:30h wait... either I get a refund or I go pick up the order. Being as late as it was in the evening I had no choice but go pick up the order. Terrible service. Awful. I will never use this branch again. Such a shame, they used to be really good... honestly if I could leave Zero stars, I would. I’ve deleted their app and blocked their website, I suggest you all do the same.

Terrible. I ordered a pizza at 6:30pm. It didn’t arrive for another THREE HOURS and no reason was given or discount/refund offered. My last experience ordering wasn’t great either but I thought I’d give them another go. BIG MISTAKE. I’ll stick to Dominos thanks…

Collected the order, I got home and realised it was completely wrong. Obviously someone els’ order, I went back had my order re made and they missed all the extra items I paid for on both pizza’s so was over charged around £13 and wouldn’t refund me the difference. Will never order from here again.

I’ve given papa Johns so many attempts to get things right but every time they just can’t. The last 3, yes 3 times I’ve ordered I’ve not got my order. When the tracking works it says your pizza is on its way (when it isn’t) or worse it says preparing status for 2 hours - that means Mike and Co are so busy it’s still a ticket. They should stop taking orders , each time when I call to follow it up it’s the same story - they are too busy. You shouldn’t have to wait 4 hours from ordering to get a pizza . It’s such a shame as pizza used to be good from here but it’s service is just shocking

Always been fantastic, I’ve been ordering off them for over 3 years, brilliant staff and I have no idea what the lower star reviews are talking about. Order is always spot on and If you call them, they’ll sort out any changes you want without trouble. Good outlet all round. 10/10
