Was there before lock down. Was very grubby inside and out, tables were sticky. Maybe new people have taken over. That one time was more then enough.

It's a nice pub by the canal. Staff were friendly and provided the kids with water and straws to keep them entertained.Beer was good, and the atmosphere within the pub seemed friendly. Would return

I loved the food I had here. I started off with 3 small plates for £17 and shared them with my fella. We had the prawn tempura, chicken goujons, and pulled pork bon bons. All 3 dishes were superb. I had the chicken supreme, and it was supreme. I think it is gluten free too. My fella had the fish and chips and he enjoyed his food too.

We had a lovely meal at The Lockeeper in Chester. Very nice canal side location. We had the fish and chips and sea bream main course , bottle of wine and a sticky toffee pudding to share. The food was sublime . Aran our server was a joy . Can’t fault anything . Wish it was local as would go there again. The price was more than reasonable too. Thoroughly recommend

Can always find a seat, I don't know why because it's a friendly place but I am grateful.

One of the best carvery’s I’ve had in a while, Whitney served me and brought the drinks I couldn’t carry over to the table. I will be back to see you all soon

Christmas dinner there was great, pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff. Dog friendly, which was a plus. Live music was great too.

Absolutely loved it thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Just couldn't fault it! We had chicken supreme with Diane sauce and truffle mash which I've got to say was delightful and I would highly recommend it. Thank you to all the staff as well, you were lovely!

We recently had our works Christmas party at the Lock Keeper in Chester, this is the 2nd time we have held our party at this venue and what a great service we received from all the staff. Their manages Rebecca and Jay where excellent and ensured we had everything we required for our night out, the food was fabulous and enjoyed by everyone it was excellent. We had already provisionally booked again for next year, thank you again the Lock Keeper.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch. Never again the food for floating in oily watery salty gravy. Roast potatoes had clearly been sat in oil all day and had gone crusty! The chefs excuse.... the gravy had been simmering all day ?

The service was excellent- very attentive. The main course was delicious! Unfortunately the dessert was off to which the manager agreed. We had panna cottas that were 2 to 3 days old ! Not sure why you would keep cream dishes that old when they had fresh desserts! The toilets unfortunately needed to be freshened up too - using a nice smelly would have been an advantage ?

Only had a drink but food looked good so will definitely give it a go and the young manageress did really well with a guy who fell asleep standing at the bar no fuss just quiet word in his ear ?
