Don’t for one minute think this is the usual pub food. Far from it , quite obviously this is homemade excellent food, it was a joy to have food cooked so well and tasty.

We came to enjoy an evening. I ordered a salad and checked carefully that there wasn’t any onion included because I really dislike it on salad. The salad arrived with red onion all over it. When I complained I was told that I should have checked the bottom of the menu as it quite clearly states that ingredients on dishes can change. I have never heard anything like it and quite frankly was so annoyed. What a terrible way to tell a customer they were right and that shouldn’t have happened! No money was taken off the bill and I definitely won’t be returning to The Chimneys. They service was the slowest I’ve ever experienced and it wasn’t busy.
Good food. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly service. Food could be hotter for me.Wheelchair accessibility: Steps up to the main entrance and inside, but there is a ramped access to the rear. You would need to stipulate that you needed wheelchair access when booking to ensure you didn't have to try and navigate the stairs.

Not enough staff. Service very slow, dessert

Starters and mains were nice, deserts were average at best. However paying over £9 for a glass of house white wine was outrageous.Parking: Lots

Disappointing experience. Friday night. Quite busy. Took over 20 minutes for drinks to arrive. Food even longer. Other diners were complaining about the service and the staff were apologising they were under-staffed. The food was average, not worth the prices. The drinks prices were astronomical. £9 for a glass of house wine. Would not recommend or return.

Nice food, good service and nice surroundings. Had to take one star off for being approached as we were leaving via the disabled exit to ask if we had paid when there was clearly cash and a tip left on our table. My mother in law has just had knee surgery, we were hardly going to do a flit! Maybe check first next time
