This has been our favourite Chinese restaurant for many years. Sadly, our recent visit has left us disappointed. I don't know what they are now making the chicken and sweetcorn soup with, but it was thick and gelatinous with hardly any chicken in it. It resembled thick wallpaper paste which is very different to how it used to be. Our chicken satay skewers were barely luke warm, and the usual food warmers they put on the table with tea lights in were nowhere to be seen. It gives the impression of cost cutting at the expense of quality, even the usual lovely linen napkins had gone, to be replaced by poor quality thin red serviettes. We left disappointed, and sad to say we won't be returning. End of an era.

I went with my partner for a meal. Upon ordering I mentioned that I have a nut allergy so wanted to check that my dishes were safe. The waitress called the manager who instantly informed me that I was not welcome as they do not cater for allergy sufferers. I questioned that there must be some safety measures in place to prevent any fatalities and was simply told " you're not that important" the manager then went on to explain that they have one fryer using one oil and every dish in the restaurant is cooked in the same oil "so even if you have a plate of chips, they might be cooked in oil that cashew nuts have just been in". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was already being asked to leave as I was " not welcome" but had to ask "Surely then, the vegetarian menu must also be contaminated as any dish will have been cooked in the same oil/ fryer that the meat dishes were cooked in?" The manager got angry and ushered me outside and told me I was never welcome back. Very rude, but much more concerningly, very dangerous. Numerous food safety standards violated within a few sentences. This place should be closed down immediately, until safe cooking practices and basic food standards are achieved. I will NEVER be returning.

Just had a takeaway from these guys. Was very disappointed with it as it was quite watery. Not that much taste and a huge amount of what felt like old huge onions and lots of veg.beef curry and sweet sour

Absolutely appalling service .dishes left to pile up on table .asked 3 times for it to be cleared. Never did get done still there when we left .Overcharged quite a lot. Not first time I have been overcharged. Everyone needs to check their bill before paying. Definitely won't be going back. I felt I received this service because I questioned the surge charge when I booked. . We spent over £200 My friend went a while ago when she got home she realised she had been charged for a bottle wine instead if a glass. Please be aware

This place was my favorite resteraunt for over 15 years but it isn't anymore. They are cutting corners on quality to save money and its obvious. Some of the portions have also been reduced to child size. The vegatable spring rolls are filled with jelly and bland. The staff are rude and ignorant and that wasn't the case when johnathan was the face of the buisness he actually cared about the quality of both food and service. I will never be returning because this is my third negative experience in a row! Such a shame.

Service was terrible. Very slow to take orders and serve food. Didn’t clear the table despite being asked twice. Food was ok but I found mine a bit heavy on the salt. We then got charged for the more expensive set meal which we didn’t get, all 12 of us, which resulted in an extra £28 on the bill! I would also stick to water as a pint of coke cost £3.80! Will definitely not be going back
I’ve had many Chinese meals over the 50 years of my miserable existence but jeepers creepers the food in this beautifully decored restaurant is truly a delight. Had the banquet and my only complaint is that it could have done with an extra 2/3 prawn crackers. Highly recommended

Drove past Chinese Delight, and based on the name alone we decided we must go there. And boy oh boy what a terrific meal. Very good ambiance, staff were great and efficient and the food was top quality. Best Chinese in Frodsham and dare I say this side of the Great Wall. Will come again.

Visited this evening, I asked for Chinese Delight Special Fried Rice with no pineapple as I am allergic. It came out with pineapple. Was sent back and replaced with hot food. The meal was basically just rice, very very little meat at all, left 60% of it. My partner had Special Chow Mein which we assumed was a meal but it was tiny and came on a starter plate for the same cost as my main meal. The food was luke warm and came with no noodles - just a few bean sprouts. Was really looking forward to our meal, it used to be incredible here for food. The staff we're very nice though, can't fault.

Wish we had gone somewhere else to celebrate my sons birthday !! We ordered a celebration banquet for 3. The soup was cold , thick and gloopy, very little crab in all of the 3 bowls . I tried to get the attention of two members of staff to ask if they would warm our soup but this took so long that we decided not to bother and left it . All the soup was taken away and we waited and waited for the next course . The rest of the food was okay , some dishes extremely salty and warm not hot . The service was extremely slow … at times we felt like they had forgotten about us . Some members of the staff were brusk and extremely rude. When paying the bill my son was asked very directly “ are you leaving a tip for the staff”? Feeling under pressure and embarrassed he left a tip. This was not deserved in anyway and my tip is to learn some manors and not treat your customers so poorly . Needless to say we will never return !!
