Food was lovely but the decor and music needs looking at.

We have been visiting Briscola since 2003 and could always rely on the food being great until our last visit. The aglio olio had green chillies which was just weird, we requested a dish for a child with no spice and it turned up spicy, and to top it off the tiramisu is now like a cheesecake consistency and not the delicious fluffy dessert the previous owner used to make. Sadly we will not be rushing back.

Mediocre.Only 3 tables in when we visited and service was still very very slow. Pleasant and accommodating but slow.My first course was ribs. They were fatty and the sauce was okay. Supposedly slow cooked so should have been tender instead of chewy and fatty.Second course was the classic spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs tasted of too much breadcrumbs, were stodgy and bland. The sauce was runny. I left most of it. Would have told the staff except no-one checked in on us. They were busy chatting behind the bar.My wife found both her courses to be superb hence the 3 stars. I'd have awarded 1.Far too expensive, poor service, food not at the price point.92 minutes for 2 courses. Far too slow.Very disappointing meal.Would do my usual second visit as always but I'd rather not....

We had a lovely evening which was very relaxing due to excellent service. All the staff were friendly and attentive and really worked together. Great to watch them at work. A lovely bottle of Pinot Grigio was selected and enjoyed. The food was good but could be tweeted to elevate. The spare ribs could have been cooked longer to fall off the bone easier and served with garlic bread rather than plain baguette. Overall a recommended village restaurant.

The worst service and meal I have experienced in a long time, waited well over 1 hour for the food, no taste at all in oven chips, watery peppercorn sauce, no salt or pepper on table, book openly displayed on bar top showing all bookings, contact numbers etc. very poor! Burnt steak on bottom when requested medium steak! Definitely won’t be visiting again! Staff desperately need training!!

Do not waste either your time or your money at this establishment. Live locally and wanted to support local business. By the time we were served I was ready to eat my right arm off !!!! To be able to serve fries that are worse then McDonalds is bad enough but my steak must have been cooked at the crematorium. Honestly - the worst meal I’ve ever had.

Visiting Macclesfield for the first time and came across this amazing place called briscola's and the first thing that hits you is the warm welcome you get followed by excellent food 10/10 just the best night thank you guys

Not what I really enjoyed. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great but the wine was not great and food was only average. Not what I would class as a great Italian restaurant unfortunately, considering I really wanted to enjoy it. Left wine and struggled to finish food.

We visited this restaurant as a chance to have a drink and a good catch up. We ordered drinks at the beginning of the meal then we ordered our food. The food was nice but we were never asked if we wanted any more drinks through the whole entire time we were there! I had to ask for another drink! When a member of staff came to take the dessert order so because we hadn’t been offered drinks we ordered drinks first and one of the party asked for a dessert and the staff member was rude and said I can’t take drinks and dessert orders at the same time! The service is very slow we must have been in there for 4 hours and I had to physically go and find staff and ask for the bill. On our way out the staff were sat around the table on the way out! If the service would have been better you would have made a lot more money!! I won’t be visiting again
