Been here a few times now and never disappointed. We had a family meal last weekend and it was delicious. Best tapas Iv had in a long time and very reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great cocktail list. Can also highly recommend the bottomless brunch that Iv had before with friends. Thank you lilac for a wonderful meal. Can’t wait to come back ?

Would definitely recommend. I’ve been wanting to try Lilac Cottage for ages and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The food and cocktails were amazing and all the staff were friendly and knowledgable. The atmosphere is laid back and I loved the decor, I felt like I was on holiday!! The only negative is that I waited so long to visit , but I’ll definitely be returning ?

I decided to come to Lilac Cottage after being unsure where to go for my 21st birthday. I wanted somewhere family owned and quaint / pretty and ended up finding exactly what I was looking for. Ravena our waitress set the table for me and my entire family beautifully with little ‘21’ decorations and gave me a huge frozen blueberry daiquiri on the house. She also had great knowledge on cocktails and recommended great choices to myself and my family, such as Bailey’s espresso martinis (?). Waiters were attentive all night and the food just kept coming - all of it hot and fresh. It was all absolutely delicious - would recommend the meatballs they were my favourite, super moist and in the most tasty sauce. We got tapas to share and every person who I invited had no complaints and all left full and happy. Got to wear a birthday sombrero at the end, brought a smile to everyone’s face. Genuinely perfect setting for my birthday, thank you so much Lilac Cottage!

Eclectic decor in the restaurant and slow service once drinks were served. Seemed like everything tasted the same. Same drizzle. Same marinade. Won’t be returning.

We have been to this restaurant many times and are young (ish) children love it so we took them for a Friday night treat. The first thing to mention was that the staff were congregated around the bar having a really loud discussion/s throughout our whole meal about people with psychiatric issues (amongst other things) which we didn't think was appropriate a) in terms of the subject and b) the location being in such close proximity to customers. The food was ok but really expensive. We are two adults two children and it was £150 with no alcoholic drinks. It was £30 for 6 lamb chops and over £10 for a small portion of chicken sizzler and we didn't like the sauce (which is obviously just our preference). They also seem to have taken to covering everything in balsamic glaze for decoration - croquettes, lamb chops, Greek salad for eg. There's really no need. Our main gripe was the cost. We did over order probably by a couple of tapas dishes but when you're being charged £5 per small lamb chop I don't think we'll be returning in a hurry!

Food was below average. Felt like it wasn't cooked fresh to order. We had to ask the waitress several times for basic things like please can you take our order, can we see the dessert menu etc etcVery expensive for what you get. Would not recommend and will not visit again.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available

Went with the girls for a Birthday meal. The staff wasn't very helpful or professional. I was asking about the menu as descriptions are vague and the waitress just walked off. Food not hot nor good portions for the cost as for a little more you'd get a full sized meal. But to walk out full you'd have to spend a lot. Drinks ate also expensive. Food was OK. Bill came they added £25 service charge! When asked to remove it we got told NO. So requested the manager sorted. Again this is a big thing in my eyes. Having worked for the NHS on the same money as the waiting on staff I really don't see why they think its a right to be tipped. Voluntary trips yes not added to your bill. Plus birthday girl never got free drink or sweet not even a song, how rude! I'll not be going back.

Good food, good atmosphere. We always visit before a NCO concert. Never been let down yet. Genuine Spanish owners.

Good food on the face of it but a two out of five Food Standards Agency rating with improvement needed. Doesn’t fill with much confidence.

Went for a midweek tea with family. Food was so good, service fantastic, very attentive and recommendations superb! So full after our main courses thought my daughter would still want a dessert and was right for once! Manager recommended a dessert cocktail like a tiramisu and omg was so good! Thank you for a wonderful evening x

Nice place for Tapas. Went Sunday Lunch and it was very quiet. Can imagine it’s great when full. Lovely staff.
