Stayed here overnight on a cycling holiday. The food and atmosphere was great and we enjoyed our stay. They also provided a secure place to store our bikes.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Lion. What an incredible day! The service we received initially when booking our wedding from Louise Smith was excellent, her knowledge and experience helped us with our planning. On the day of the wedding, the staff were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our day was special. We would like to thank in particular Tia, Chloe and Ali for all their efforts on the day. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The accommodation was beautiful, thank you Dawn for all your efforts too. We would highly recommend The Lion for your wedding venue.

We came here for the food, so I’m unsure about the hotel.
The fillet steak was amazing! Gorgeous desserts and side dishes too(we had the balsamic cabbage), slaw and mashed potatoes, all very yummy!
For dessert we had brownie and cappuccino crème brûlée.
Sadly no pics as we were on a date! ?
My little furry enjoyed it there too.
Beautiful place, I’d definitely recommend and visit again!
Update: went back twice after my birthday for Sunday roast, best Sunday roast I’ve had in my life! Definitely a firm Sunday favorite!!

A lovely dog friendly place .. Unfortunately we only had drinks due to our schedule hence 4* review But yes the menu looks amazing and the staff are really helpful and friendly. Will definitely drop in again when in the area.

Stayed here for 3 nights 20th May this year.Could not fault this break at all, plenty of parking, the garden rooms are just perfect on entering and leaving the luscious scent of roses was beautiful.large rooms, fluffy towels, great shower good size tv and a lovely supply of snacks and bottled water.The restaurant food was spot on and the staff were so friendly and helpful, lovely choice at breakfast also.The reason for the 3 stars for location was the village although historic was a little tired I would love to see it full of little independent shops but there are plenty of places to visit around.i would 100% recommend this hotel.
