Great atmosphere in the pub but meals take far to long to come out that's if they even have them in, even though there advertised. Been no straws for the last 3 weeks for the kids and tables very sticky and dirty dishes left on tables too long even though staff are delivering food a table close by, dishes are not cleared, staff are chatting amongst themselves,. A course in hospitality and catering would not go amiss .:(Vegetarian options: Could not find one

spent an absolute fortune on meals, menu is limited and kids meals where larger than adult meals, not worth it compared to other pub meals, won't be going

We visited on the 26/3/24 for my wife's birthday the meal was excellent the service was fantastic and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone we have a Granddaughter who as food allergies and she was looked after really well so thank you for everything. Mr CJ pattison.

I would never eat here again we ate here Thursday 14th March, I ordered off the app cheese leek and potatoes pie as a vegetarian and I knew there would not be mushrooms in it ! I was served chicken and mushroom pie ? and have been quite poorly since as my throat started to close with the mushroom allergy ! But no first aider available! Absolutely disgusting the way I was told if you had come to the bar to order then we could of dealt with the allergy ! But I ordered a vegetarian pie that didn't have mushroom what a disgrace of a place ! Steer clear !!!!

We had theatre tickets, and the show starting at 7.30 it was convenient to walk there over the canal bridge. we booked the table electronically and the slot of 17.30-19.30 was ideal. Family live in Runcorn and we live in Chester, so also ideal to make it a joint meal with them. The tables are spaced nicely so no one should feel closed in. The staff were very polite.

6pm on a Sunday. All roast meets other than turkey out of stock. Only advised on this upon ordering, not when arriving! Probably a quarter of the menu unavailable. No tartar sauce for any of the fish dishes, no sour cream for Mexican dishes, no whipped cream for desserts! None of us were able to have our first choices or in some case second choices. Wish we'd stayed at home
Both Maisie and James junior couldn’t do enough for us including our family with allergies. Great environment, great chat with the staff and they can’t do enough. We are regulars now and only because of the staff and consideration for us. Highly recommended.

Everyone was welcoming, James greeted us at the door. Loved the touches of our meals on our name places and the Christmas card too,made us feel right at home.Starter and main were absolutely gorgeous and the cheese board too. Everyone was so friendly despite it being Christmas Day (as I feel bad whenever we eat out for Christmas as they are working)

What a great thought out and not overwhelming experience for breakfast with Santa for a 3 year old. All of your staff were helpful and attentive Special mention to James who is always so polite with great customer service when I have been in even if he isn't serving us.Kid-friendliness: Just a good place to go to.

Booked online for family of 7 at 1.30. Received our confirmation by email. Arrived at 4pm arranged booking to be told that kitchen out if order and only serving pizza. Just a bit annoying that my email was provided, but no one took the time to check periodically that new bookings had been made.
