Went Wednesday early evening, sorry to say food wasn't good. All 4 of us didn't eat more than 25% of the meal and sent it back (the picture is what was sent back) fish was greasy, you can see how much bottom left under the fish with soggy batter, the chips were like rubber. Waitress was asked if it had been microwaved, assured not but I'm not convinced. Meal was offered for free. Not recommended.

All round lovely pub with good quality food. Only minor issue was the time the food took to arrive at the table.

Situated within the small town of Culcheth, this pub is easy to reach on foot or drive to (with its own, free, car park). If going for evening meal, it might be best to book ahead, but there is plenty of space if just popping in for a drink too. They often have a range of standard and guest beers, which adds interest. They often have real fires burning (they have two in each of the main rooms), which makes it lovely to sit by the fire on a cold, wet evening with a pint chatting with friends. Generally, the atmosphere has been friendly and relaxed when I have visited, making it a nice place to visit.

Had a lovely Sunday roast. Not sure how they make the Yorkshire's but they were devine.Service was the best we have had in ages thanks to Rowena for making the the whole experience brilliant.

Called in for a snack. Told they don’t serve sandwiches on a Sunday. Ordered a rustic pizza and chips. We left half the pizza it was very doughy and topping watery. We told the waitress who came back for plates, she said she would pass information on to kitchen. No one came back. We also told the lady we paid, who didn’t apologise just took our money. Very disappointed. Would definitely not recommend to anyone.

What a lovely pub, very welcoming and the Sunday dinners are scrumptious! The staff are very attentive and super friendly. The pub is dog friendly so you always have a little pooch around too! Couldn’t recommend enough, we have visited numerous times and always had a fab experience.
