Great food, nice atmosphere and the service was great. Jack was our server and is a real credit to the place and was incredibly helpful and polite throughout our visit.

Came here New Years day looking forward to a nice family meal. The waiter looking after us was great, really attentive. Drinks came, really prompt service. That's when it sort of went downhill. The lamb my 13 year old was served was literally pooled with blood, my son asked the chef to change it and he did, but I had to go back a 2nd time as it was so rare. We like lamb but this was just too undercooked. Veg was really dry and not pleasant to eat The plates are too small, as soon as you put the Yorkshire pud on you can't fit much else on. The gravy was so thick it was so concentrated and grainy. Love thick gravy but this wasn't nice. The gravy ruined it really, none of us liked the dinner. £120 odd quid later and felt like hard done by, resented paying it. Unsettled stomach for 2 days after. It's literally put me off carveries.

Not the best experience of a toby carvery, maybe it was the timing 3.30 on a Saturday. The food looked like it had sat for a while, roasties had disintegrated, it was just shell. Mash wasn't the best, and worst was the sausage really don't what that was, but it was inedible. Staff overall pleasant.

Food was nice, AmyP was serving us and I think she was the nicest woman I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet :)

Absolute garbage!! Asked for Turkey and Gammon. Both slices as thin as paper. Asked for more as they're the only meats I eat, and I don't get veg. Told that I've been given the 'portion size'. What's the portion size? Pathetic. Rip off. Told if I want more meat, I need to order the 'big plate'. Roasties were rock hard. Mash was lumpy. Horrible experience and won't be returning anytime soon.

8 of us having our Christmas Dinner during the mid-afternoon.Service from the staff was very good to attend to us all, time from ordering to receiving dessert was a little excessive but all in all a very pleasing place with great food, good Prawn Cocktail starters.Only regret is that I should have gone for profiteroles rather than the Christmas Pudding, lol.Parking: Plenty if parking, around 40 individual spaces as a quick countKid-friendliness: Toby Carvery are always child friendly, they make half the atmosphere in my opinion.Wheelchair accessibility: There is some seating in raised areas but plenty of accessible seating and entrance to carvery is flat through the main doors

Absolutely adored this place, from Wales originally but this place had such a warm welcome and a polite server, only part I'm upset about is that I couldn't finish my food was because I was too

The staff were amazing, really accomodating, and helpful, its tbe best Toby we have visited and we would highly recommend and visit again. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her family 13th there and is already asking when can we go back?Kid-friendliness: Staff were really accomodating and friendly with the kids

It's an absolute pleasure dining here. It's clear that all the staff work hard, and they go the extra mile. Yes, the meat is a bit fatty but it's cheap and cheerful and that's what you come here for. I've never come here and had a bad experience; the staff are very accommodating to my disabled husband which is great because I feel confident about being able to come here again.

Just ... Wow.Thank you, to all the staff. As a person who suffers with Autism & PTSD, I don't always arrive on time for a booking; which can be detrimental to my experience. Coming here today, that's what happened. Because of that, the table we were given was slightly out of the way and, as expected, was having a detrimental effect on me.I wouldn't normally speak out, but I felt that I could and did. For a busy Sunday, yes it was difficult for the staff to assist. But once the situation was explained, the staff and management were amazing. We were moved in an instant and were made made to feel incredibly welcome. The carvery was beyond expectations; I don't normally finish a king size plate, but I did today. And the dessert was exceptional. I will have no hesitation in recommending and will visit againFive stars all round

The service was very quick on our last occasion. We were in and out within 45 minutes and full to bursting! Was thrilled at the mini sprouts being on offer at the servery ?

We had our Mum’s birthday party at the Widnes Toby Carvery. The food was excellent. We would like to thank the staff who couldn’t do enough for us to make it an extra special occasion for her. Thanks everyone ???

We have visited this venue this evening for my husband’s birthday meal. It turned out to be a disaster. This venue does not cater for disabilities or allergens fully. This venue is not an inclusive environment for all.The staff lack common knowledge when it comes to diversifying the service. We have three children, all of which suffer from different severe food allergies, and all carry an EpiPen. Two of our children are on the spectrum. Our youngest child is very difficult to please when it comes to food options, his dietary requirements are based on his allergies and the texture of foods. We rarely take our family out for meals because we find venues simply do not cater for our family’s needs. This evening, I took two of my children to get their meals at the carvery. The server wasn’t very pleasant or accommodating when I asked if he could cut a Yorkshire pudding in half, as our daughter is 6. His reasons where he couldn’t because of allergies. I explained we had a child with a severe egg allergy, so we understand that knifes cannot be cross contaminated. He commented back, “yes you should understand that” – I was shocked at his lack of effort to accommodate us, he could have simply got a clean knife or have a system in place where a knife is already there to purposely cut Yorkshire puddings in half for children’s plates, as most children only eat half anyway. Which is a simple task. Instead, he just threw it back at us.It didn’t help that they were unorganised with their meats and no gammon was ready in time for the replacement meat. It was a 10 mins wait. Again, this just shows a lack of effort and organisation in the team’s process for preparing food and catering for all food requirements. My children only eat gammon. That was the start of the nightmare. Then my husband arrives back at the venue, with a McDonalds for our son, to be told by the manager that we couldn’t eat as a family as the company’s policy is no food from elsewhere. I explained we did this all the time. He said he thinks we have been allowed in the past, as no one has noticed us.I explained our sons’ issues, he just said I’m sorry I can’t allow it and that he had kids etc.He told us to take our son and sit in the car and eat it. So displaced our family meal. No common sense, empathy, or consideration to our complex family needs. No diversity, no room for movement, just a no.I had to take our son out and we missed our family meal, while my husband ate with our two other children.I still wanted to have my meal, but of course went past my hunger due to sitting with our son in the car. When my son finished, we returned into the restaurant.I went back to the carvery point and asked for a small plate, then got challenged by the carver as to weather the plate was for a child or myself. I said it was for me, and he refused to let me eat from a smaller plate. I had to have a full adult portion. At this point I could have cried. We will never return to this venue again. The staff need some extra training in dealing with families with a diverse need. They could have made it so easy for us to enjoy a family, birthday meal but instead they fought us with every need. Making it challenging, which changed the atmosphere dramatically.Every family is different and if venues want to be inclusive, they need to ensure their policies have room for some consideration.I hope the management team get to read this and make the appropriate changes to the training they so desperately need.Dietary restrictions: Restrictive with dietary requirements and learning disabilities which effect dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Will not cut Yorkshire Puddings in half to fit on the small plates.
