Loved this pub! Friendly staff, had a right crack. I apologise for breaking the card reader. Extremely accommodating! Definitely a local feel to the place. Loved the fact that they have a halo lit dart board. When I said “That is awesome” the reply was it’s just the practice board. Apparently they have another board that comes out above the fireplace. Look out for the gap in the beams!Highly recommend, wish I had more time to spend there!!!

We received a warm welcome, especially as we arrived a few minutes before lunch service ended. There's a good selection of lagers and bitters as you would expect in a free house. There's also a good selection of whiskeys to choose from.We were the only customers so hard to gage atmosphere but having visited in the past I know it is popular.Food was excellent and just what was need on a cold winters day.Parking: Free parking for those using the pub.

Turned up just as the kitchen was closing for lunch at 2pm but they did make us lunch which was lovely. Very nice old fashioned pub with welcoming staff. Christmas decorations were amazing. Great place to visit.

Lovely looking pub, friendly patrons, beer tasty but not cool....Don't ask the old bar woman for an ice-cube because she'll say it's your imagination! Cheeky mare ?Dunno about the food, gonna go somewhere else lol shame though - it's right where I'm staying ?

Proper pub with a very welcoming landlord. A range of well-kept and properly-served ales, with good, hearty food and more menu choices than some other pubs in the area.

Sunday lunch was a traditional one with all the trimmings. Very welcoming staff and a good range of beers.

Stopped in the afternoon for a pint, we were the only people there. We walked in to feel unwelcome with no hello from the lady behind the bar. Our pints both tasted off - as though the lines need cleaning. Once at our table the owners started moaning about tourists. Wish we’d spent our money elsewhere.
