I called in at lunchtime after walking round the lake. (Though the weather was dry there was a keen, cold wind which always seemed to be blowing into my face. The good thing about this was that it built up an appetite.)At the entrance counter, where I was given a warm, friendly welcome, there was a small blackboard offering a Sweet Potato soup. How could I resist?!The café was extremely busy. I counted 21 people eating lunch, so my soup took time to arrive, but I knew the kitchen would be heaving, so I was happy to wait. The thick soup was *really* tasty, with an interesting scatter of peanuts on top, flavoured ~ I think? ~ with Tajin, which was a new spice for me.An excellent meal, enhanced by the smiling, friendly, professional staff.Thank you!!

We visited for the first time today (having driven down from Plymouth) as Sibley Back Lake and the cafe had been recommended. The website stated the cafe was open until 4pm and although hot food stopped being served at 3pm, cakes and hot drinks were served until 4pm. We walked in at 3:07pm (had to use the Exit door as the other doors were locked). We were told (along with 2 other customers) that the cafe was closed, however they agreed to serve us hot drinks and cakes, but we had to have take away cups and eat outside! I do think this should be noted on the website! The Coffee and cakes were very nice but the staff were obviously eager to shut up shop and we felt they were doing us a favour by serving us.

Stumbled on Olive & Co whilst out for a walk around the lake and was blown away by the food on offer. We both had the Hara Bara potato cakes and they were utterly delicious. Fantastic food in an unassuming place. We are now planning a weekends walking nearby, just so we can go again !
