Having read previous reviews, we decided to give New Garden the chance over the others. We ordered Mini Spring Rolls, Beef curry with boiled rice, chilli crispy chicken, chicken chow mein & a portion of chips.Unfortunately the mini spring rolls were forgotten, being unable to return & having paid cash it was useless calling to rectify.Food was average if I'm honest. It was edible but nothing to rave about or recommend to family & friends. The portion sizes were pretty poor especially with the prices being the same as what we have 'back home' yet our local is double the size if not more as is the quality.

Went there after a recommendation a couple of years ago. Since then we have never eaten elsewhere, why would we, it’s perfect. Good quality, good price, moreover very friendly. Try it, you won’t be disappointed. ? John.

The New Garden came recommended some two years ago. Have been there at least once every three weeks and have taken many friends there since because of it’s exceptional value and quality, food is always piping hot. Very friendly staff.

Really enjoyed our meal. The waiter was lovely, the restaurant looked clean and the food was fast, fresh and delicious. We had spicy beef noodles and king prawn fried rice with curry sauce. A bowl of prawn crackers were included whilst you waited. The takeaway area was busy, testament to how good they must be. Plan to return soon!

Wow! Great experience. Called before to discuss Gluten Free food, which they accommodated fantastically. Such polite and helpful staff. The food was delicious, really tasty crispy beef ♥️ Good size portions and reasonably priced. Was ready to collect at the agreed time and still hot when i got it home.(Beer not included!!)Dietary restrictions: So helpful on the phone with Gluten Free selection. Went through pretty much their entire menu. Nothing was too much trouble for them. ?

This is a nice family run restaurant/takeaway; it is a very popular place with the locals ?We tried the takeaway meals and had a sit-down dinner meal as well!Zoe and May, with their team, are always friendly and welcoming during our visitThe food is freshly prepared with great taste and good portionIt's definitely a gem in the area. After reading some of the reviews in the local area we decided to try New garden Chinese. Prices online menus are severely outdated by at least 30% on some items (we estimated our order £50 and it was £60+) so firstly check these. We ordered over the phone and collected. First the food portion sizes are tiny. £7 for the smallest of small for sweet n sour chicken with 3/4 being veg. Special fried rice. Half and half mush of roast beef onions and bean sprouts and a tiny bit of egg fried rice. Oh and one piece of Pork. £2.60 for what can be only described as baby dips for sauces . The chicken balls were greasy, spare ribs had hardly any meat. The list is endless Oh the chips .. £3.10 for small portion of chips which were dry and crispy half the bag were the odd crap pieces that are left at the bottom of the bag. Honestly a shocking experience. Whoever has been putting good reviews needs to experience a proper Chinese takeaway somewhere else. It was foul and would never ever recommend it ! £60 worth of food in the bin !!

Ordered here whilst staying at Retallack resort.Really friendly lady on the phone, was told 10-15 minutes and food would be ready to collect.About a 10-15 minute journey from where we were staying so asked if it could be delayed slightly - no issue at all. There’s parking on site which was a bonusSurprised at how good value for money our order came to!Picked food up and was still lovely and hot when we arrived back to the lodge, really fresh tasty food, probably one of the best crispy chilli beef I’ve had.Wouldn’t hesitate to order from here again if we were in the area!

This was my first visit to New Garden and I loved it. The staff were friendly and efficient, no long waiting time for food which was delicious, and good spacing between tables. Toilets are available and there's a small car park at the front. This really is a little gem, I will definitely be eating there again.

Very disappointed, after reading the great reviews I thought we would have found ourselves a great place. Unfortunately to our disappointment we waited 1hr which I wasn't to disappointed by as I thought it was going to be worth the wait. The food came warm and as I got back 0.8mile away it was almost cold. The portion sizes were incredibly small 4 slices of prawn toast was very disappointing regarding the price. Also the food had the taste as it was re heated and dried out the chips were the worst dried bland tasting. I could keep going a £50 order that's been water and thrown away. Not happy and will not recommend ?

We come on holiday to Cornwall every year. And this is the place we come to for Chinese food. Can't comment too much on atmosphere, as we utilise the take away option, but not had a bad meal here in the last 4/5 years of coming here. Always happy to see you even if not a regular, and the food is excellent.

Good food with friendly service in a busy, unfussy restaurant. A nice selection of Chinese food. Nothing too adventurous, but tasty and enjoyable. A tasty treat.
