The food here is home cooking at its finest. So delicious. We shall def return. A really good selection and generous portion sizes. The mushroom and cheese omelette I had kept me going all day.A really personalised service and a quaint building, once the heart of the village honoured well with the decor.Parking: Parking is along the left side to the rear. Looks like the village community parking.

What a lovely find for breakfast! Great quality food at a very reasonable price. I had the all day breakfast and my wife poached eggs on toast. The owner and staff were really friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly too!A proper cafe, like the old days.Parking: Parking just around the corner.

This is our go to cafe when in the vicinity even if it’s over 30 mins away as Alan is such a delightful host. The food is scrumptious. Two of us even had ribeye steak which was one of the specials at a very reasonable priceand he excelled himself and even provided extra butter for the potatoes. As regards parking avoid school pick up time as there is a large car park in the road behind.

Really friendly welcome and a great cafe in a beautiful village. And the flapjacks really were divine.

I must say, this cafe has truly mastered the art of the "Ploughman's Perfection!" ???I waltzed into this delightful establishment, feeling as hungry as a bear after a long winter's nap. Lo and behold, I stumbled upon their Ploughman's masterpiece. It was so good, I'm considering changing my name to "Ploughman"!The cheese was cheesier than a cheesy joke, and the bread was as fresh as a daisy. Those pickles? Let's just say they had more personality than my Aunt Mildred. And the carrots? Well, they were the orange heroes of the plate! But here's the kicker – they served it with a side of laughter. The staff had me giggling so much that I nearly snorted Ploughman's all over the table. Bravo! In conclusion, if you're looking for a Ploughman's that'll tickle your taste buds and your funny bone, this cafe is your spot. Five stars for the laughs and the ploughmans – it's a match made in cheesy heaven! ???

Hawkeys was such a good find. The cream tea was superb - 2 homemade fluffy light scones, delicious jam and clotted cream that was NOT shop bought. The owner from Hull is very friendly and nothing was any trouble. Many thanks for making our last afternoon of our holiday a treat :)

Visited the Japanese garden and found this place just around the corner. Unfortunately all the breakfast had gone, but was offered lots of other choices including a beef bap that was to die for. Nothing was to much trouble including removing peppers from my wife's meal and replacing it with a salad.

As recommended by my family who live locally, Hawkey's didn't disppoint! The cream teas were completely delicious as were the ice creams and tea. Alan was a great host, nothing was too much trouble and there were treats for Charlie the dog. I'd recommend a visit to anyone. It will be first on the list next time we visit from Bedfordshire and do the river walk behind the shop. Thanks Alan!

Had the best icecreams ever - Treleavans - and the owner was so nice, very friendly, and helpful! I live locally and can't wait to take my next visitors there this coming weekend for more.
