We called into the Anglers on a Friday for a pint after we had booked a cottage for the weekend. It had a great warm welcome. We booked for the next night which was New Year’s Eve for our Family and the food did not disappoint. We came back for a drink on New Years Day after a long walk and promised the kids food. When we arrived they had stopped serving but Pav was brilliant and said don’t worry we will make you whatever you want. If you aren the area this pub is a must visit

Staying locally over Xmas and New Year, called in on Friday for a few drinks whilst walking. Warm and friendly staff, drinks priced as normal, a lovely pint of Thwaites Gold. Booked for New Year’s Day, a slight miss understanding with the times but very quickly remedied. The food and service was fantastic. Great portions and excellent quality. We were all busted and couldn’t have eaten anything else. Highly recommended

Cannot rate this place highly enough. Pav & his excellent team do a great job here. We have been here for drinks & meals several times and standards remain consistently high. Two nights running in November we had tables of 10 booked for business dinners and everyone raved about the food & service on both nights. You must try it, some traditional pub classics plus some great additions including authentic Rumanian options - go for the Mici if available !! Worth the journey if you're not staying local, advise booking too to avoid disappointment. Pav, Dani & the team have worked miracles since reopening back in March, long may their success continue.

Visited 28th Dec. Party of 8 with 1 lady in a wheelchair. They were more than helpful in getting her in and to the table which a lot of places sometimes neglect this. The food was as good as it gets. We had pie, fish and steak between us and all of us agreed it was excellent. Very pleasant interior too so overall a great meal out. Will def return.

Came for dinner while visiting family in the area and had a really lovely evening. Food was great - so good to have such lovely food cooked with real care - we had a range from fish and chips to sarmale Romanian cabbage rolls, and all was delicious. Pie and mash came with 6 veg so you'll definitely get your 5 a day!! Service warm and friendly too and good selection of wine and beer. Thanks for a lovely meal- I wish we lived a bit closer but we'll definitely be back when visiting again and would certainly recommend.

The food is fantastic!! Gorgeous place. Brilliant service. Couldn’t recommend enough! Visit!!!!! I had the steak and ale pie. Veggies were perfect! Couldn’t get enough of it. Hubby had a burger which looked unreal. My little boy had chicken nuggets and chips and he LOVED THEM! A hidden gem!!!

Booked in for a family Christmas meal! 12 of us and all had a brilliant time! Food was great, very tasty and we all enjoyed each course! Friendly staff and happy to help with anything we needed. Would definitely go again!

Just been for dinner. Had their Sarmale which is a Romanian celebration dish. Very apt for Christmas. Absolutely gorgeous. Also had their homemade Panetone. Absolutely stunning. My wife had Chicken Burger in a toasted brioche bun with bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, marinaded onions and tomatoes and pickles with handcut chips. Really, really nice. Fabulous food, fabulous service in a relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Keep doing what you are doing!!!!

Great cosy pub with absolutely delicious food. We had chicken Sunday roast and Romanian mici dish and a side of salt&pepper chips. Delicious, massive portions, great value for money. For dessert we had homemade tiramisu which tasted great also. Dog friendly place, our dog didn’t stop getting treats the whole time we were there which was great. Very attentive snd friendly staff.
