Shockingly bad service. Rude bar staff rude waiting staff. Not accommodating at all. Very hostile environment - not sure if it was because we were an obvious gay couple. Other people seemed to be happy in there.Terrible experience all round.

We visited this dog friendly pub last week with my whole family and miniature schnauzer Eddie. Food and service was excellent. We sat near an open roaring fire and all the dogs were treated to a sausage snack. Lovely people and we would definitely come here again.Walkability: Lovely walks nearby

We have now stayed at all 3 pub b & b's in Hawkshead and this is by far the best. The staff are brilliant and can;t do enough for you and the food is superb. Thank you for an excellent 2 night stay. Will definitely be returning.

We’ve had a wonderful week in Hawkshead, the weather was dreadful but The Queens Head was the best place to go to after a wet walk on the fells. The atmosphere is perfect as are all the staff, really friendly and attentive. The 2 for £25 on Thursday’s pie night was the best. Steak and ale packed with tender beef, yummy. Thank you to all of the staff who made us welcome.

We have just returned from an amazing weekend at The Queens Head. The staff were wonderful, they accommodated a last miniute change of plan for us which meant we were still able to come on this trip. The children were given hot chocolates at breakfast, the food was amazing. They even set out a breakfast at our table for the elf we brought with us. The children were so excited when they came down to this and haven't stopped talking about this. One of the ladies there went home to lend me here phone charger as our car was snowed in. Nothing was too much trouble, all genuinely good people. On the last day, we asked to borrow a shovel and they came and helped us dig out the car. Our children were not originally supposed to join us but I think they will be insisting on returning next year! Thank you so much to all the team, you were amazing ? ❤️ xx

Just popped in for a beer while the boss was having a massage at the Beauty Rooms. Had a Cumbrian Way and a Hawkshead Bitter. Both were nice but I liked the bitter best.

Starter of soup was very good. Main course of Steak and Ale pie was inedible. Pastry was over cooked and as hard a concrete Hard to swallow (excuse the pun) as not cheap. Won't be back

Lovely warm friendly Inn with great staff. The bedroom was a delight with lot's of space and very clean. The bathroom was larger than normal with lot's of hot water. Amazing comfortable bed and we slept so well. The food was exceptional both breakfast and evening meals. The evening meals were a delight and of very high quality and good value.

The price was excellent, but sadly, the service, although very efficient, we felt was a little soulless, which was a shame. It's a very popular place so maybe we were just unlucky. Don't park right near the pub. Park in the paid public carpark. It's only 150m away.
