I don’t usually like to write negative reviews but our fish and chips were so disappointing last night that I feel I need to say something so they will hopefully improve! I’ve attached photos. I believe these are new owners, the previous ones were brilliant (as you can read from their reviews). Service was ok although slow, but the fish was the main problem, it was so small, quite wet too, and thin, so not a lot of fish at all, and could have done with a bit longer in the fryer for a more golden crispy finish, the guy ordering after us requested his to be in the fryer for longer so clearly knows they are under cooked. Some of the chips were also unfortunately under cooked, but mixed in with previously cooked ones so it made for unpleasant eating experience, you can see from the photo i ended up leaving quite a lot as it just wasn’t enjoyable. You can see the advert on their window shows off a fantastic looking fish with chips. Overall really disappointed and won’t be going back until there is an improvement.

OMG! Read WHOLE review ....so over 44 minutes of waiting to be served! And that's helped by 7+ couples giving up. Friday 630pm visit in Jan, it closes at 730pm which I am told is common here. People in the que said, "Are they away in the sea, fishing for my ??"....others said they were not fast food, more ? like! I had to wait as I wanted fish and chips, and others places being booked up. The business is tiny. Some said it was smallest shop space in UK? My chips looked white, like chalk so put them in bin, pic shows half that were ok....I hope this shop improves fast. Coast to coast up the road serves in less than 4 mins on Sat night...here it's 44mins!! My fish...was cold and just horrendous. The fish was like watery! Like a half defrosted fish finger! The people running it do try, but anything over two orders and it slows up. Loads of times they went to a back room as customers asked why such a delay. Fast food it is not. We all have off days, but this is not hard, they could and should do faster and better. Watch your rivals do it LOADS better, faster and keep customers happy. One day after our visit we drove 7miles to the local Coast to coast fish and chips, sooo much faster!! (Think, ....We got our food 7mls away, so 14ml round trip in less time!!)

Checked the opening times online, said it was open tonight (Saturday night) until 7.30 pm, however when my wife and I drove over from Near Kendal and arrived there at 6.30 pm they were closed????

Excellent chippy! I have some experience being from grimsby. The haddock was very tasty along with some super chips. Decent portion for a tenner. Excellent service by the lad behind the counterParking: Car park across the road. I never checked but assumed it was free after 6pm

Below average fish and chip shop. If there was more competition from other fish and chip shop in sedbergh it would have gone out of business years

Great friendly fish and chip shop. Some of the best f&c I've had for a long time. Everything fresh and stayed crispy until the end. Highly recommended.Parking: Some parking opposite on street but pay car park very close

A really good fish and chips. Light and crunchy batter and perfect chips.Vegetarian options: Veggie pies

I'm sorry but my visit on Friday was a big dissatisfied one, Fish was very thin and over cooked,NOT YOUR STANDARD. £8-80. price increase quality decrease. Please return to your usual quality.
