In September this year I hurt myself whilst walking on the hills and falling over in very wet weather.Due to my injury my husband and I, with our dog, missed our train and so we decided to pop into the Moorcock Tearoom. We had such a warm welcome from the two wonderful women running the cafe and enjoyed an hour of chat and laughter with a glass of wine and sweet potato chips.Thank you so much to you both at the Moorcock Tearoom, you cheered us up with your laughter and warm hospitality.

I would like to give a review of our stay but when I rang 24 hours before we were due to arrive the female that answered the phone said she had cancelled it because the price shown on my booking was incorrect. No email, no text message nothing to let us know, just a very impolite lady on the other end of the phone who hung up on me. !!!

Pleasant, welcoming pub, with well kept real ale.

Good food. Excellent, friendly service. The Moorcock is moving towards a licenced tearoom with B&B accommodation. Will be back.

Called in for a beef stew lunch for two, the service price and quality were all A+ The atmosphere and surroundings are very traditional welcoming and homely. Would highly recommend a visit on your way to Hawes.

Arrived on a Friday night at just after 6:00, pub mainly empty, asked if food was available but informed that they were fully booked, they did have a sign up saying that they were short staffed. However I would not recommend that year here, as the smell of old hot cooking oil from a fryer was more than enough to put me off, drove off down the road with the windows open, but aroma hard to remove.

A nice pub in the middle of nowhere, the staff was really friendly, but I had the special that day, a leek and potatoe soup, and I'm sorry to say, it had no flavour whatsoever. The cherry crumble my boyfriend had on the other hand, was very good. All in all an ok place for me.
