I have been a member of Ulverston all my life, I love this establishment, especially on fine fest, dickensian festival, and the summer season. It catches the sun right outside the front and is dog friendly which is great for us as we have a 3 year old Lab!! which gets treats each time she comes in! It is a family run pub which we always come too!! Can’t wait to come in on fine fest as they have the best entertainment.

Nice pub, only downside was the lack of food available, and the serving times on the menu obviously weren't correct

Expensive pub - worst experience in town and openly rude to customers

Walked in here with my family and the women behind the bar was pissed as a fart, very unprofessional. She was taking the piss out of everybody in the bar.I couldn't wait to get out of the place, worst pub we have ever been to.

Let me start by saying, if you gave a pub to a couple of teenagers to run, this is what it would be like. The owners tend to just get hammered every evening, play loud music and have a sing song till about 2:30pm with no regard to people staying I their below average rooms. There's two types of review on here, the type from people who have intentionally gone out on the lash and think it's great, and the others who pay for a room, and think it's hell. No real private bathrooms, everybody shares, the wording is cleverly structured online to make you think this isn't the case. The floor boards are so thin and ubove the bar, so you have to hear the whole knee's up escalating downstairs. The rooms....aaaarrr..the rooms, ultra basic, there's 2 star, but then there's marmite star, not very clean, not very secure with the locks, and I just got this weird feeling like there'd been a bad murder sometime in the past. The staff...obviously zero job satisfaction you can tell, as the general rudeness and attitude to anyone who isn't impressed. There is no breakfast offered as you'd expect from a b&b, as all the staff are nursing hangovers and wouldn't be up that early anyway. I now understand why they take your money upfront, so you don't turn around and walk out. Finally....after zero sleep due to two nights (Wednesday & Thursday) hearing the staff drinking all the inventory, I left the murder scene building at 4:30am and bought another train ticket so I could get home as soon as possible and hug my Mrs. ....don't do it, unless you want to just get drunk and sing along to 'now that's what I don't call music' all night long.

Friendly bar atmosphere with Thai food too... What's not to like?

We booked a family room, it was clear that this was a converted bar with minimal effort. I rang prior to booking to ask if it was a pub suitable for children to stay over and was advised that it would be fine not a noisy pub, it was quite the opposite with loud music till very late. On arrival just after 5.30 pm it was already noisy and this continued until closing time. The room did not have an ensuite as advised, the shower room was at the top of the stairs out of the room.

A very nice pub with an authentic Thai menu available from 3.30pm. Restaurant Thai food in a relaxed pub setting which is very unusual. Lovely courtyard, friendly staff and a must visit for both drinks and food, be it before the Thai menu starts as other food is great too or when the Thai food becomes available which is exceptional.
