Had another brilliant visit to this lovely cafe. Jane and Sam run a wonderful little cafe that’s also full of lovely surprises like a little treasure emporium. I also bought a Winnie the Pooh scarf as well as coffees and fruit loaf. Where else can you do that!!! Full of interesting bits and bobs. Good puddings board and drinks menu. Will always go here on any Ulverston visit!

Small but querky cafe which doubles as a second hand shop. You can buy your table and chairs but not until you have finished eating!

Lovely cafe with delicious food and lots of choice on the menu; including gluten free options! The baked sweet potato was perfect & the lentil, spinach & mushroom filling was a welcome change to the standard potato fillings. My partner had the cheese & coleslaw sandwich which he really enjoyed & said was a change to the standard cheese savoury option you normally get.We both had desserts I had the nutty & chocolate bread pudding which was absolutely delicious, with a perfect consistency. My partner has the sticky toffee puddin, it didn't last long as he enjoyed it so much.Jane & Sam are very friendly and welcoming. Fantastic service. We will definitely be back next time we're in Ulverstone!

We came across Fourpence Cafe by chance when visiting Ulverston. What a discovery! We enjoyed Sam's Seafood Chowder served with a lovely fresh generous warm bread roll. The soup was superb and a meal in itself and would not have been out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. We were warmly welcomed by Sam, immaculate in his chef's whites who had strayed into the cafe from the kitchen just as we arrived. Our coffee was offered with hot milk and was delicious. There was a stream of customers entering the cafe who were obviously regulars and greeted by Jane. The array of curios, hats, hatboxes and memorabilia crammed around the walls of the cafe and available to purchase was fascinating and contributed to an unforgettable visit. We will be back!

We have just had breakfast at this super cute and quirky cafe and we will definitely be back! My husband had the full English which he said was cooked perfectly, using very good quality ingredients. I had the baked eggs Provençal style which were absolutely delicious - two eggs in a gorgeous herby tomato sauce and baked in the oven, served with fresh warm brown bread and butter. So tasty. All washed down with a pot of tea for two. Lovely friendly service and so much to see and for sale, including the table and chairs we sat at! Dog friendly too and provided a bowl of water for our little dog. We’re only visiting Ulverston for the day but will make a beeline for this cafe if we return!

This place is a one off,the atmosphere and design is amazing. The food is divine, I can still taste the poached salmon with lime , and sticky toffee pudding. Friendly and quirky ,I'd return again if in the area.oh and did I mention the sticky toffee pudding.? ?

We're new to Ulverston, but Fourpence Cafe is definitely a gem. The place is unique and run by lovely people who made us feel very welcome. Served a veg soup & seafood chowder that the high street brands could only dream of. We'll be back for more ?

Wonderful little cafe and collectibles shop. Like going back to a more elegant friendly time. Jane and Sam are lovely hosts who really care about what they do. We rediscovered them today after more than ten years. We used to go regularly to their place over near Carnforth which was the Hat Trick Cafe. It was a delight to see them again and enjoy tea and coffee with home made scones and fruitloaf snacks. The cafe is quirky, but really interesting, and we met some of their regular customers who were charming and very friendly. If you love something different that takes you back to the days when dining was a treat to be savoured, then THIS is the place to be. My wife and I will be back again soon. Ulverston has some quality attractions including the Laurel and Hardy Museum and much more as well. The whole area is a smashing day out. Dont miss animal park too.

No hot food other than soup and it was only 245pm. Went to another cafe serving lovely coffee and hot food .Very sad but are you running the cafe for your convenience or the customers convenience. I have to say it is the former. Will never return and this cafe represents everything bad about the old Britain that closes before the day has even got going.Arrogant owners rude reply on Trust Pilot.Insult the customer rather than improving product name of the game.Do us all a favour and call it a day , you are stuck back in the bad old days when England shut at 3pm.Pass the baton to the youth and retire! Why does Ulverston close up so early , coffee shops so old fashioned.

We called into this lovely little cafe for a quick lunch with our boys. The cafe is really quirky inside and run by a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome. I had a jacket potato with tuna and cucumber, it was really delicious. The boys fancied hot chocolates and a pudding each which they really enjoyed. Hubby had a chocolate crème brûlée. He really enjoyed this. A really unusual little place serving lovely, fresh food.

Lovely little place, very quirky and staff are excellent. Good luck to the lady who runs it and is having op after a long knee problem .

Just called in as the presentation from outside caught our attention. The menu looked promising and as we learned, the quality of the food was superb! DELICIOUS chowder, tomato soup and apple banana and date crumble. Lovely inside and a friendly couple who run it. I very highly recommend the cafe. Closing temporarily for around a month, but head there when Jane and Sam reopen!
