Nice quite tucked location of the former Brittania Inn aptly renamed The Stan Laurel Inn.\\n\\nAn excellent selection of local beers from Ulverston Brewery; almost the brewery tap.\\n\\nThe food menu is also excellent and the staff will go our of their way to make bespoke snacks too.\\n\\nStan Laurel's House is worth a peek. Only 3 streets away down Chapel Street.

I actually do love this pub but unfortunately last night 10/3/23 I arrived at 20:25 after booking into my B\\u0026B ,hoping for a bite to eat and a few drinks as I’d been travelling since 12:00 and was very hungry, was very disappointed to be told the kitchen was shut even though there was sign’s everywhere saying food til 21:00.the chef was still on site I saw him leave at 21:10 so I’m sure he could have tussled something up there’s nothing on the menu that would take a long time to cook and to be honest if he’d have given me a limited choice I would have accepted that , but instead I ended up with a few drinks and some nuts from the bar.\\nIt did say the owners where away in annual leave so It’s not there fault, other than that a lovely pub with a good ambience and menu just a shame I couldn’t try it.

Even though I phoned at the last minute on valentine's night, they fitted me and my 3 children in, with no worries.\\nWhen we arrived, all staff were friendly and welcoming. All seemed very happy there.\\nOther customers were friendly too, and had a chat with me and my children.\\nThe food was amazing, and very filling. There was a good variety of choice, so something for everyone. And everything went down a treat!\\nThank you for a great experience!

Visted yesterday for the first time but definately not the last. Lovely surroundings, very helpful staff who went through the menu in detail as one of us was gluten free and the other dairy free. All four meals arrived at the table piping hot, with fresh vegetables and we all agreed the food was very tasty. Everything about our visit was excellent. We have found a gem of a place in our home town.

Very homely pub. Portion sizes are so generous it takes me 2 weeks to finish a meal

My favourite restaurant in the area! I’m obsessed with the chicken pepper pot, it’s a meal that isn’t on any other pub menu I’ve ever seen! It’s so full of flavour and lean chicken, comes with fresh vegetables and I honestly cannot fault it. It’s a firm favourite throughout my family too. My boyfriend loves the black pudding starter and everyone who’s had a meal there says how delicious it is! They also have some amazing desserts! And the quaint cottage pub feel with laurel and hardy imagery is just so sweet

Nice little pub. Little expensive compared to other places in Ulverston and many other places we have visited. £8.90 for pint and a half of San Miguel.
Local pub with character, warmth and friendliness in abundance. The whole experience from booking, to checking in, to ordering drinks and meals was an absolute delight! The room was basic but had everything that was required for a comfortable stay and all the staff, from mine hosts to catering, we're approachable, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and the food, drink and service were all first class. The room was half the price of anywhere else in Ulverston. I can't recommend the Stan Laurel too highly - if you're visiting Ulverston, or the Lakes in general, then give them a call-you won't regret it.

Some of the best food we have ever eaten. The hardest thing was what to choose to eat! Great menu. Service from the staff was second to none in what clearly was a busy resurant. Great value too.

I ordered one of the specials on the board- a rack of ribs. They were good but coated in too much sauce. The side salad had a unique flavor and I enjoyed having something different like that.
