Had a lovely 2 course lunch here. Food was plentiful, well cooked and great value for money. The beer was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly

Stayed at the Castle Inn with my husband for a short birthday getaway. We arrived at 2pm and managed to find a parking space in the very busy car park. The car park is right by the pub so we didn't have to walk far (which was a blessing as it was throwing it down with rain!) We were checked in quickly by the lovely lady behind the bar and given all the relevant information for our stay. The room was cosy but modern, clean and warm. The bed was very comfortable and there are also tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers in the rooms. We booked to eat our evening meal in the pub as their menu was varied and offered far more than I would expect other Greene King pubs to offer. We arrived a little early so we could have a drink before our meal but were pleasantly surprised to find that our table was ready for us. The food was delicious, well cooked and served in a timely manner. My husband had the mussel starter and we both chose steak for our main meal - his medium rare and mine rare. Both were cooked to perfection. We were too full to have a dessert but thoroughly enjoyed a bottle of wine and a few beers afterwards. Breakfast was lovely and cooked fresh to order. The staff were friendly, polite and professional throughout our stay and the premises were clean and nicely decorated. We would definitely stay at the Castle Inn again and would highly recommend it.

The place waa quiet and cozy. Even though some dishes were unavailable due to distribution issues, whatever they did have made up for it. I would recommend trying their lamb dishes. Melt in your mouth heaven would be what I would call it.

Stopped her for a Sunday roast.\\nAtmosphere was somewhat lacking when initially waking into The Castle.\\nBar staff seemed unbothered and lacked customer service skills ( Needs better training ).\\nLandlady / Manageress was friendly and welcoming .\\nWaiting staff were polite and attentive .\\n\\nFood ordered was a reasonable price for the location, and food was served hot and freshly plated .\\n\\nIdeal place for lunch on a wet Sunday afternoon .\\nDog friendly.

I called for a bite to eat and noticed they did proper pies, not those casseroles with a puff pastry lid being called a pie but a proper crust pastry. Enjoyed it and left full and happy. Good service.

Excellent pub! Stopped here for some lunch after a stroll around the Peak District and it was absolutely delicious. Generous portions and very reasonably priced. The pub itself is very clean very reassuring to see staff taking covid seriously. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Well worth a visit!

This was a Friday afternoon in December and we simply dropped in. It was quiet and we got a table straight away. Staff were very lovely and friendly.\\n\\nClean and well presented and a medium sized pub. Tables weren't sticky, a pet hate of mine when they are supposed to be cleaned properly in these Covid times. Was very happy with the cleanliness here.\\n\\nCar park was small and we missed it on first pass. You will need to register your car at the bar and you only have 2 hours in the car park, but you can register it again.... This is right in the Bakewell town centre after all, so understandable.\\n\\nOrdered our two meals and thoroughly enjoyed them when they came. Had some difficult choices on the menu cos it was so good. My partner had the Salmon and it was a really decent sized fillet that she enjoyed. I had the hotpot which was equally as tasty.\\n\\nWould come again and as it is a B\\u0026B may well book a couple of nights here\\n\\nThank you for a pleasant and tasty visit
