Coffee Shops in Bakewell

“On a very wet day I called in for coffee. Never having been here before I had some difficulty finding the door, which is rather concealed. There are four short flights of stairs to the cafe, which makes it a pleasantly calm place free of the usual clutter of prams that plague so many cafés today. The service is excellent and the coffee excellent. There's a comprehensive menu to suit the majorit, unfortunately I can't eat in these places because like Jordan Peterson, I discovered that most foods cause inflammation diseases in me. I would have been happy to spend more time there but Bakewell has some serious problems on the parking front, and the roads are permanently jammed with traffic. Anyway this is a pleasantl venue as are the staff.Further to my review yesterday, I must add that I have been to most of the cafés in Bakewell over the last few months. I have concluded that the Upstairs Cafe is definitely the best and serves the best coffee by far.Parking: Bakewell is a very difficult place to find parking and the traffic crawls through the place at any hour. Most of the parking bays are far too narrow and people tend to drive such big vehicles that they can't really handle. You therefore see people trying to direct the hapless motorists into position.”

“Great carvery, paid at the bar then got a voucher to go into the carvery and be served at the counter. Portions are very generous and the food quality is top notch! Probably the best roast dinner we’ve ever had out! Value was quality too at £13.95 per adult carvery. Did get busy from 12:30 onwards so worth booking to avoid missing out. Nice family run business!”

“A gem of a place we stumbles across by sheer luck with some amazing choices of sausage which were to die for. Some may say a little pricey, but I disagree as these are not off the shelf sausage sandwich options so are worth every penny!Excellent and friendly service which has guaranteed we will return again.”
