Found the Sunday roast beef to be really tasty (£18) with delicious roast spuds and homemade Yorky pudding . As I’m greedy if had cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips then would have been excellent. ? Relaxed environment so thumbs up from us. We were mindful of the carpet with our walking boots but that didn’t seem to stress the staff ?

Have visited the Crispin a few times & have always come away very satisfied with the service, food and beer selection on offer. Staff are very friendly. Great choice of food & they cater for gluten intolerance customers. I highly recommended.

We went there for a birthday dinner for the second time, as we liked the place the first time. There is a friendly atmosphere there and the food is good with a combination of menu and specials. There's also a good selection of drinks, the staff there are all friendly too, it's a good place for a night out, it may be best to book a table though.

Ordered drinks and 5 main courses for a family birthday meal. Only 4 meals arrived after quite a long wait. Eventually told by unapologetic owner that he had made a mistake and only written down 4 orders (made excuse he was tired). We had to start eating as food was only luke warm so birthday boy had to wait. After 10 minutes, he was given bread and pate. After we had all finished eating, his meal arrived and he had to sit and eat on his own. When we came to pay, owner said I have not charged you for bread and pate (which we had not ordered) but had charged for everything else! Horrible service throughout which ruined the birthday meal.

Unfortunately there were a number of dishes off the menu, but the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was inviting.

This is our 3rd visit and must add the quality has been consistent! No Sunday roast left so hubby had the Gammon,Grandaughter had the steak and I had the vegan pie, followed by sticky toffee pudding and the vegan trillionaires chocolate tart, we all thoroughly enjoyed our food no one left anything, the portion size is very generous,my husband enjoys the hand pulled beer on offer and says the selection is good,You get a friendly welcome and the atmosphere is good too, well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.Parking: Car park at the front of the pub, plus plenty of street parking

Quaint pub restaurant with good service and great food. I booked this for my partners Birthday on Friday. Good range of beers, wines and other drinks, Loved the home made food, great to see something other than burgers. I have recently been diagnosed with a dairy intolerance so the chickpea curry was absolutely delicious with rice and popadums. My partner had the steak and unicorn pie, the unicorn being an ale they sell …we laughed with the friendly manager as I’d thought it might be horse meat! The pie was proper home made not processed and the steak was melt in the mouth , absolute quality and fresh veg too . Nice atmosphere and a quirky range of Toby jugs , must be hundreds of them and just fun looking at them especially the old logos. Friendly service and all in all pleased with our choice. Will visit again.
