Absolutely horrendous. Don't go to this place. We were treated with rudeness and the staff were extremely off hand. There was no attempt to cover whatever issues they were having. The food is overpriced and the menu is very poor. My advice to you Jolly Fat Chef is to actually be jolly instead of upsetting your customers with rubbish service and foul attitudes. We will not be returning as no attempt to offer us an apology or compensation for such an awful experience. The response to this has been to make up a complete false account of what actually happened. We were not asked to leave. We left because of the awful way we were treated. There were no attempts to correct the problem attitude. The staff just closed the restaurant and we could hear the staff screaming ar each other from inside the restaurant. Other customers were coming and leaving as they also were not happy. You have belittled the fact it was all over a sausage roll in your rude response to us on Google and you have totally missed the point . Your waitress and the lady in charge refused to acknowledge that they had been rude to us. The rudeness started the minute we tried to order. The lady in charge and the waitress were talking loudly so l could hear that they wished a member of staff would come back as they were not coping. Then the girl serving me scowled at me and didn't say a word....there was no how can l help you...she sarcastically, very sarcastically said "You can take that back". She motioned to the wooden spoon that has table numbers. So as you can see this was not just about a cold sausage roll it was a a whole attitude that we were subject to. Still no acceptance of this and pure denial from the management. When l challenged the waitress for her rude attitude as she was very reluctant to warm up my sausage roll, she had a go at me for not asking her earlier !ALSO WE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY REFUND AT ALL ...we were most definitely not given our money back ...we left once we finished. We were sitting outside and the doors were locked while we ate our cold sausage roll...it was still cold even after being supposedly warmed up!What a lie!

The most beautiful, picturesque courtyard! Me and my grandma enjoyed our lunch and some drinks sat here. Quick service, amazing food and felt like we were sat in Italy with the sun on our faces. The perfect summer spot. We have attended a pizza night with a singer too. Best pizza I have ever eaten!!

Called in on an afternoon out to Bakewell and was drawn in by the sign on a nearby corner stating Gluten Free cakes (I’ve celiac) and thought it was a lovely place. We sat in the oh so cute courtyard and both ordered panini (gf for me). Whilst waiting I overheard the waitress giving a list of cakes & cheesecakes available to the people on the next larger table (I assumed if I asked I’d be told maybe one or two might be gf) but she explained they were ALL gf as the owner has celiac. After a delicious gf panini I ordered a gf blonde which was the best gf blonde I’ve ever had & we’ll definitely be making this our go-to place for lunch in Bakewell!

Wonderful food, service and setting. We came in for a family Sunday brunch with the dog and the whole experience was outstanding. My two children who are picky eaters found something they wanted to eat, praised the food and enjoyed eating their breakfast! We will be back next time we are in the area.

Just off the track next to but better than the Costa is The Jolly Fat Chef. Loved this place, family friendly and great service. Quirky music themed cafe seating area but caters for all music and foodies world wide. Get yourself down there and support the local businesses ?

Thank you for a lovely birthday meal for our 7 year old. The staff had decorated the table for our son and presented him with a yummy muffin at the end. The kids enjoyed delicious milkshakes and the pizza they described as ‘the best ever’! Friendly and attentive service, great food, good beer prizes, fun music decor and cool original bar. We can’t wait to return - it is a great venue families, parties, couples, friends.

My wife and I enjoyed really good coffee’s in the courtyard - such a nice atmosphere and a welcome change to Costa. Highly recommended good coffee in Bakewell.

Tucked away up a side street, Kings Court is a lovely location and the cafe deserves to do well. The food is excellent and the sizes are a bit big. The staff are friendly and we loved the opportunity to sit outside in the sunshine, with a blanket optional.
