Had an excellent three course meal at Bistro Pierre in Derby. The food was excellent, especially the Boeuf Bourginon. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed every part of the meal. The ambience and decor were excellent. The best restaurant I have visited for some time! I love that they are championing French cuisine at a time when fast food is so prevalent.

We were close to the door and had the heater in the back so were warm. It was fairly busy but the service speed was great! They were attentive as to when we had finished our food too! Wonderful xx

We went at 15:00 in the afternoon and it was busier than expected a few days after Xmas, but we had pre ordered our meals 3 weeks before so we didn't think we would have anything to worry about, but how wrong were we.. we were told instantly the fillet steaks we pre ordered were out of stock to which we weren't happy about but said ok we will have the rump... oh ofcorse none of them either apparently no steaks at all not sure how that happened when we pre ordered 3 weeks ago but we ordered something else and got on with it. Then 3 of us on the table ordered gins and lemonade to which it came tasting of soda, we told the lady the syrup must have gone as this tastes of soda to which she said we were wrong as this is poored out of a bottle of lemonade.. we said ok but this is 100% soda all 3 of us can taste soda she was very rude and didn't beleive us but huffed and changed it anyway and well would you beleive this time is was lemonade!. then after the rest of the table were waiting over 30 mins for there first drinks ! (The starters had came and been eaten) when asking the bar lady she was very rude and said the gas has gone on the beer which we were never told and no excuse for the over 30 mins of waiting, 10 mins later the rest of the table got there drinks. The only reason I will give 2 stars was for the young slim girl with long dark hair in a pony tail as she was lovely and dealt with the steak ordeal very well! But the rest of thr staff were honestly so rude and made us feel very unwanted. Also food was average and way over priced wouldn't come here again not like they would want us back either !!

Bistrot Pierre Derby was the perfect choice for our works Christmas Meal - the staff at the venue were absolutely brilliant at keeping 31 of us happy! We had most of the upstairs space to our large party which was brilliant, and the food was all cooked to perfection! There was understandably a little wait between courses with a party of our size, but our glasses were never left empty and the waiting on staff were super attentitive. Everything was very well organised with having a pre-order, and the venue is very responsive to emails. Thank you to the team for all your hard work!

The staff were really superb; really organised and professional, and patient with a big group. They deserve a big Christmas bonus. The food was nice albeit the portions a bit meagre (but the quality was much better than a year ago).

This restaurant is very poor. I had a vegetarian meal which was extremely disappointing. The starter was too small and there was almost nothing on the plate ! The main meal wasn’t a main meal at all it wasn’t even a starter. It looked really bad just a blob of melted cheese in the middle of the plate. I don’t know what the chef was thinking ? Nouvelle cuisine perhaps? which is by the way in my opinion arty farty rubbish. I expect a decent square meal when I’m out which is not very often. I cook my own food from scratch and have regularly catered for others so I’m an experienced cook. So I wasn’t impressed. The either need to change the chef I change his jaded ideas. I didn’t pay for the meal but if I had I would have asked for a refund. Appalling.

We had our wedding breakfast here last Friday and I cannot tell you how good it was. The service, the atmosphere and most of all the food. All amazing!!!! 43 empty plates told the story and such good value for such quality. Would recommend it to anyone!

We had a steak with chips for a small supplement. There was a lot of grisle and fat on it. The sticky toffee pudding we had for desert was nice. It is a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere, but seemed to be a lot more expensive than last time we went. Also we used to love the French stick bread which was free with your meal, now it is different bread and you are charged for it which I think is a bit cheeky.

I was served this salad. I asked for a fresh one because it was brown. The waiter took it back to the kitchen but then brought it back because apparently the kitchen said it was fine. I guess it was fine but very very far from fresh. Is this the standards of Bistrot Pierre?
