“It's too easy to walk past this estate-based pub and miss out on some of the best kept beer in the city. The beers we had were superb, well kept and we even found a couple of complimentary samosas on our table when we returned from a cigar break out back. Friendly staff and lots of choice make this a great place to stop for a great pint.”

“Love the choice of beer and ciders. All are perfectly kept. Great bar staff very welcoming. Nice beer garden overlooking the river. Different things going on, cheese night bands, DJ. Really recommend going here.
Update August 25. Still love it here. Favourite pub.

“Wow, well what can I say........it's been a while pal! I once graced this place and dance floor many many years ago and by the looks of it the place hasn't changed one bit!
Still got the sticky floor boards and my god doesn't look like it's been painted or refurbed for years could do with a decent lick of paint!
As for the toilets and urinals I'm pretty sure it's the exact same urinal that my mate face planted in after sinking 12 pints of carling darling and 6 sambucas all them years ago!
I sunk a couple of shandies today to reminisce and yep you got it still tastes pissy and watered down like the old days but today was a different day and it was a cracker, a lovely place for the Aspire Wrestling Alliance to put a fantastic show on for the people of Derby who showed up in numbers today.
I thought the venue was spot on although the wrestlers couldn't get to do there stuff off the top rope due to the limited height restrictions.
With food and drinks available at the bar I would say the day was another successful event with atmosphere holding nicely in the building and the Aspire team making good use of the dj box ready to go.
I must say the main event was absolute carnage, ironing boards, stop go signs, diverted traffic, ladders, chairs, lego and even a false leg ? made an appearance you just cannot make this stuff up pal incredible!
Only disappointment today was I ordered some chips and when they arrived came in a burger box and must have been 20 chips in there altogether and for £3 quid I felt very aggrieved.....someone had my pants down there son!
A great day out for all the family! ?”

“Came here today (14.09.2025) missus had booked an early birthday dinner and despite messing up the booking in terms of amount of people and turning up nearly 2 hours late because she'd forgotten exactly when we should be here, the staff and manager were able to squeeze us in and move a few things around, lots of banter, excellent service throughout. They'd even got a wedding party of about 100 people and despite all this the service was personable. Food was beyond excellent (unfortunately the famous pie was all sold out, not that it's a surprise). Definitely do come here, 6 stars, well done guys!!”
