The initial cocktails took a while but there was a backlog so that's understandable. After that everything went really well, taking our orders, good coming out, other drinks etc, really goodExtra thanks to Kelsey and Sydney for looking after usWill definitely come back ❤️

I visited Derby branch and it was amazing. The place has a special vibe and you can really feel relaxed and at ease like on tropical island. I went in to get something to eat and what I got was a great body and soul experience. Music and the design are fantastic. The food is so delicious - the meat split from the ribs with just a gentle touch. Everything was cooked to perfection. Drinks are great and desserts just melt in your mouth. Banana cheesecake or coconut ice cream were sensational- you can taste real coconut there. Staff was very nice and attentive. They even have their app so worth downloading before a visit- mention before ordering. Enjoy! I will definitely come again. Ps. Prices are reasonable and portions suitable- if you're not very hungry, go for just a dessert or main. Worth trying - anszing Caribbean food

Above average! Here for a colleagues leaving meal today. Not been here for a few years. Sadly the food was not as enjoyable as it was back then. For a weekend, it was late on a Sunday afternoon, it wasn’t too busy. We were a group of 13 so were told food would be a little longer than normal which we were fine about. Our servers, Sydney and Ed, were very helpful and attentive taking our orders quickly. I ordered the Mixed Sharing Platter, a dish for between 2 to 4 people it states but I had it for a main. I think 3 or 4 people sharing that as a starter would have been a stretch. As a main it was about right and portioned the same as a main meal. Sadly the jerk wings were over grilled. Charcoal isn’t a flavour profile. The fries were soggy from sitting around too long after being cooked (and waiting for the other peoples dishes to be done). I feel that the chefs should have taken this into account, it’s their job after all, and added the fries last to all the dishes requiring them to keep them fresh and crispy. They also missed one extra portion of sweet potato fries my friend ordered which never appeared and we had to ask for it to be removed from the bill. Overall, the mains were ok but nothing more. That’s sad considering how much better it used to be.One of the biggest disappointments were the desserts. I, and others, order single or double scoops of the available ice creams. Turtle Bay uses a different idea of a scoop than what any of the rest of us. I think they used something akin to a melon baller! Paying £3 for two “scoops” of ice cream the size of gooseberry is ridiculous and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to do the same (see photo for comparison to a pound coin!).I hope Turtle Bay Derby improves, and gets back to what it used to be. Until then I, and the rest of the group, will be voting with our feet and going elsewhere. As we others when we reveal how disappointed we had been.

Positives - lovely friendly staff, good atmosphere and great food (salted caramel brownie to die for.)Negatives - sweet potato fries I ordered didn’t arrive, that was the smallest scoop of ice cream I’ve ever seen.
