This restaurant has been a favourite of mine for years ! But since it’s been took over by the new owners it’s now at a new level!! The food is absolutely delicious and presented so well!! These guys have really worked so hard to get this restaurant to where it is today! All the dishes I’ve tried over the last few months have been delicious, the staters have been great, the mains have such depth to the flavours! Well worth a visit…. Keep up the great work guys…

Gone down hill since changing ownership. Staff now seem to consist of a teenage waiter and an older guy cooking the food. I've ordered food 4 times now for collection and something always missing including on 2 occasions a full portion of curry ! When you go back to inform them of this, the waiter always looks at you as if you've slapped his nanna ! This once good restaurant needs sorting out.

Much improved with new owners. Friendly, very attentive staff and very good food with a wide choice for vegetarians. Take your own alcohol and glasses, ice etc. will be provided. All at a very reasonable price.

We booked a table for 5 yesterday evening (04/05/2022) and I dined with my family. As a long time fan of the old restaurant (We used to order regularly), I was very much looking forward to seeing what the new takeover would bring to the table. (No pun intended!) The food was absolutely fantastic. Not a single thing to complain about. I went with the deal and had onion bhajis to start, which were cooked perfectly and packed with flavour. For my main, I ordered a particular favourite of mine, garlic chilli chicken with garlic rice. The chicken was cooked well and the sauce was crammed with great flavours and, while there was a little heat, it was not at all overpowering, allowing me to enjoy the different aspects of the flavour profile. I was also able to sample some of my family member's dishes, which consisted of vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala, chicken naga and the Honey Borbon Chicken. Each dish had a great flavour, even the more milder ones and were brilliantly cooked. Afterwards, we were treated to a tasting of some freshly made Jalebi, which we became absolutely hooked on. It's always great when restaurants interact a little more and offer new things for folks to try, introducing them to exciting new things. I highly recommend stopping by and giving them a try. I know I will definitely be back, as well as ordering take out.

Food is hot and tasty. Staff are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the food. Would recommend eating in and also take away

We visited the restaurant in mid April after a long break. The restaurant has recently changed hands and there is a great improvement in 'everything' The decoration, lighting and furniture has been updated to a more modern look. The staff could not do enough to help us. I noticed a dish that I had not tried before and the staff provided me with a free sample to test (chicken tandoori pakora). It was delicious! For my started I tried the lamb tikka and followed this with a butter chicken with rice and a Peshwari naan. Very tasty, although the butter chicken could have been a little more spicy. My friends had mixed grills, 1/4 tandoori chicken and lemon grass chicken - all were cooked to perfection and presented nicely. The owners were very keen to explain how they cooked the food and what staff and equipment they had . At the end of the meal we were asked if we would like to visit the kitchen to see the food being prepared. The kitchen was quite small, but functional and spotlessly clean. The tandoori chef demonstrated how he made the naan breads in his tandoor - it fascinating to watch an expert at work! The restaurant does not have an alcohol license - I like this because the price you pay goes on the food preparation and service, and not on elevated priced alcohol. You can, of course, take your own drink into the restaurant. So, a fantastic evening with friends at a local Indian restaurant serving mouth watering food.

Really, really tasty food combined with great service. We went on specials night (wednesday) and paid £12.95 per person, which we thought was fantastic value. It's bring-your-own-booze,but they have plenty of soft drink options too. Will definitely return ?

Service was very quick. The food was great, all four dishes were tasty and a decent amount. Very nice pickle tray too. Certainly worth the money very reasonable

Visited for an early evening dinner with the family, the first time in well over a year. Food was really delicious, couldn't fault any of it and it did arrive mostly in good time. Recommended dishes, mushroom Biryiani, veg Pakoras and Afghan Chana. Top marks all round. What let the experience down for us though was the service. Not made to feel particularly welcome to start with, despite booking. And throughout the meal the service was not unfriendly as such but borderline so. And regarding the social distancing still in place - even though the restaurant was empty when we arrived, further diners were seated on the very next table, and the same for the following arrivals. No masks on anyone waiting on the tables. And at the end of the meal, no bill was forthcoming, felt ignored, had to be told to bring it! To sum up, super food but service needs to match please!

The food at bay leaf is up there with the best of Indians I’ve ate. The only problem is over the last few months the delivery times have got longer and longer. That said when it arrives it is top quality and very tasty. I would recommend however cater for a long wait.

Ordered on line for delivery at 17.45hrs. Rang them at 18.20 as order had not arrived and was told it would be half hour. 19.30 it still had not arrived. Attempted for half an hour to get through on the phone to them. Finally spoke to them and they said a delivery driver has not turned up so can I collect it instead. By this time I was fuming. Demanded a full refund. We have given them a few chances in the past after messing up but this was the last time. I will never order from here again. It has gone downhill and they don't care about customer service

I ordered the Greasy Rice with the Saucy Spiced Grease Puddle and Two Chunks of Chewy Dry Chicken and a Clarty Nan with bad attitude. It was exactly right! I would recommend this restaurant to anybody that wants to feel used and disrespected on a grand scale. Looking forward to going back although, a heart attack and early burial would be preferable.
