Been many times over the years, never a problem. Called on Thursday 4th Jan '24, served quick enough with a smile, the mini fish chips & peas looked good, unfortunately it was all batter, there was the thinnest sliver of dried up fish I ever saw inside that batter, how did anybody cut it so thin. Taking the pish now, time to go elsewhere. Why lose a regular customer. Looked the part, just shy of any fish in all that batter, see pic.

I had the mini fish deal with cup of tea £7.80. It came quick served with a smile & "enjoy your food", looked fine, well, would have been if I'd found a flake of fish in that batter, there was the thinnest sliver of dried-up fish I'd ever seen. Batter was fine, chips ok, peas fine. Fish disgusting. been going here for many years in winter for a sit in-doors lunch, always got a reasonable piece of fish in the mini deal. I'll not be going again.

Dropped in as the reviews looked good, be prepared to wait a while as its always busy and seating inside and out is scarce. Placed our order then took our seats as we were told it would be brought over. While waiting we saw many other people who ordered after us receiving their orders, food took about 20 min+ to arrive and then when it did my partners fish had mushy peas instead of curry sauce all over it. We were so hungry we didn't want to wait for a new order so just took what came.

We were in Matlock Bath for the Illuminated Boats in the gardens and so it was very busy. We were lucky to get a table in Kosta's cafe and we ordered our fish and chips at the counter. It was delivered to our table along with our cups of tea. We enjoyed our meal - it was good.

I visit Kostas all the time and this is because a) it is always excellent and b) Matlock Bath is the perfect motorcycle destination. The service is always friendly, the food always freshly cooked, piping hot and utterly delicious and the pricing competitive. What more could you want?
