This is one of the best bookshops around and it has a lovely small cafe with very tasty, healthy and vegetarian food.

Brilliant book shop. Absolutely full to bursting with new and second hand books. The cafe (hidden behind a bookcase) serves delicious food and drinks too. If you've never visited before, you must!

Scarthin Books is the place to go for books and for its beautiful café. It is the loving creation of its owner, its manager, the cafe owner and its wonderful staff. A trip to Scarthin is always a highlight of any trip in the southern Peak District.

Great book shop, you need plenty of time in there as there are so many books to look at. There's a cosy little cafe within the shop, parking in the village is easily available. I've always returned home with a good haul of books to add to my collection, primarily of art.

An absolutely glorious Aladdin's cave of a book shop. I could spend all day browsing in here & there's an adorable little cafe hidden upstairs too for a spot of refreshment. Can't wait to go back

A rare bookshop to find. If you are in the area it's a must visit. Stay a while and grab a coffee. Thousands of books to browse spread over 3/4 floors. Very quirky, a real treat for adults and children alike. Go explore the strange world of Scarthin Books.

A magical bookshop, with rooms with such character. There is also a small vegetarian/vegan cafe but it was busy so we will try it next time. Definitely worth a trip to Cromford for the lovely bookshop and the view out the window.

My favourite bookshop in the world. Great selection of both new and second hand books, brilliant little vegetarian cafe and extremely pleasant and helpful staff all in an extremely charming setting. Some cramped aisles can make it tricky to manoeuvre but personally I think that adds to the charm. Make sure you earmark an entire morning or afternoon, or ideally full day to fully explore every nook and cranny.

Fabulous! Spent the most amazing few hours in this delightful place. 100,000 books...so you're bound to find something to suit. Such friendly staff and a delightful café, with delicious home made food. Highly recommended. This place is a joy to visit!

No kidding, this is the best bookshop in England. A massive collection of new and second-hand titles covering a vast array of subjects. It's in a large, traditional building on a picturesque village street. There is even a big door pretending to be a bookshelf with an excellent veggie cafe behind it where you can relax and review your purchases.

The amazing famous bookshop in Cromford. Several floors of books (plus gifts - often literature-related) and a small tea room.If you love books, don’t expect to leave here empty handed, and give yourself plenty of time to browse.

Great bookshop in a picturesque setting. I could easily spend a few hours in here. Really nice cafe upstairs as well. Had the raspberry and chocolate cake and a cup of tea which went down well!
