Stopped here for a cup of tea. Service isn’t quick but was okay. However, as we were leaving, (still in the cafe but not at the table) the owner complained to other customers about us only having ordered drinks and no food. I wish she had just politely said when we ordered instead. There was no need to be rude.

Genuinely can't say I've ever been to a café (or any form of restaurant) quite like this place, it really is something special. The owners are so friendly and chatty, love how clearly proud they are of what they have here (as they should be!).Food is perfect, the Melting Pot I had (mushroom, butternutsquash, stilon) was so delicious; hot, gooey, and really unique. My friend and parents had the tart of the day (a courgette and pepper tart, I think it was), I didn't try it myself but they were all singing it's praises. Clean plates all around. And Nikita, the lovely dog, is just a gem. She really ties this place together and makes it feel like you're visiting a friends house rather than a café.Visiting this place is an absolute must.

As someone who was born and raised in Bideford and has seen plenty of cafes come and go I can’t recommend Cafe Collective enough. Their friendliness and quality has never changed and if you’re looking for somewhere to go for breakfast, lunch or just coffee it’s brilliant. There are plenty of options on the menu, everything is sourced locally and made fresh, the staff are always lovely and the prices are affordable. Please visit!

Have been here once before for coffee and wanted to come back. Was well worth the repeat visit for lunch. We had three different melts all imaginatively created by Paul and all delicious. What’s more it was lovely to be somewhere where it was obvious that staff genuinely cared about every customer.

Really great little cafe, great atmosphere, friendly, chatty staff. Lovely dog eager to meet everyone. Had a great time here, felt bad upon paying as I paid by card and learning, much to my disgust that using my card to pay costs them an astronomical amount, sorry I didn't have cash, definitely recommend eating here for the tasty food and great coffee and excellent company. Also recommend taking and paying in cash if possible. Will ho there again when next in the area.

What a wonderful find! This is a fantastic family run business. Such a lovely welcome, and also by beautiful Nikita the dog! The coffee (and I'm really glad I was recommended a large cup!) was super tasty and hot. The food was done to perfection. Everyone in this cafe (and it is very popular) had a smile on their face. We left feeling we had the most lovely experience. I'm especially super-fussy...but I will definitely be back! Loved it! Thank you!

This a small friendly & family run restaurant. We ate lunch here for the first time today. We were greeted by the family Labrador Nikita that melted our hearts. Everything at Cafe Collective is super clean from table tops , menus etc The food was truly tasty had a Turkey Melting Pot with chips totally yummy. Good value. Will be our regular pit stop in Bideford for lunch.

Lovely greeting at the door, shown to a table were we could look out the window and appreciate the Christmassy interior. Lovely chat and chai latte with beautifully warm cream tea scones.

I've been here about four times since the new owners took over around Coivd19-era - mostly because the food and drink is good. But this and the lovely dog aside (what a sweety), I have to take issue with something. Every time I try to order a small coffee or tea the owner gives me the same spiel - almost word for word about how a larger cup would be better - it's really really really really tedious to sit through. Can I make a suggestion? Why not offer one size instead of giving those of us who want a small one your speech. I think it's been a year since my last visit (because I can't face having the same one-sided conversation) and the same happened last time, and the time before. I went inside CC for a catch-up with a friend and we only had a short time to talk before we had to rush off - I spent too much time engaging in these unnecessary shenanigans - I just wanted a coffee! Then the owner said it was hardly worth her bother serving us, I suspected she was joking, but then on exit she moaned about how much it costs to process cards even though our bill was over the minimum. In a town full of cafes, I'm hardly stuck for choice. I really miss the old owners Kazz and Tess. I was in there all the time when they were running Cafe Collective, and I had no probs, I even left a five star review here and in other places . Saying all this, the food and drink was nice, but I won't be back. There's certainly friendlier cafes in town - there's about 50 others to choose from.
