After looking at reviews we decided to try this pub for a roast dinner and what a fantastic choice. We all had a roast and the chef absolutely knows how to cook brilliantly. Beautifully tender meat, roast spuds to die for and perfectly cooked vegetables. Portion sizes meant the meal was value for money, and the view was fabulous. We are lucky enough to eat out regularly and the waitress was one of the best servers we have had, she worked so hard and her customer service was faultless. Sorry did not catch her name but she did say she worked there at weekends and a nursery in the week. Can’t wait to make a return visit on our next holiday.

We always visit the Instow arms whenever visiting Instow, the food is always superb, great portion sizes and excellent quality. The staff are amazing and it’s always a great atmosphere, thoroughly recommend and will be back soon!

Came primarily to walk our dogs but decided to stay over for a meal. We have eaten here before so we knew we were in for a feast. We had the Sunday roast and it did not disappoint, the food was hot, a good amount and variety of vegetables. not least of all, the service was excellent with very polite and caring staff. We intend to visit Instow more regularly in the summer and will include this restaurant as a must on our travels.

Popped in for a Birthday lunch. Great location. Sat upstairs with beautiful views over the beach. Food was fantastic, reasonably priced and generous portions. Fantastic and friendly service throughout. Highly recommended.

We are local and this is definitely our favourite pub for taking friends, family and visitors. Sadly, today's visit was below par, especially as it was for the four of us to celebrate my husband's Birthday! I chose the Vegetarian Burger (costing £18!) Before ordering I checked what the burger was made if, having had a bad experience with a 'home-made' burger before. I was told it was made of Soya, which sounded ok. However, it wasn't Soya, but a mash of vegetables put in a breadcrumb - not very nice and not what I was expecting! My friend chose the Cod & Chips (£16.50) and the batter and fish were over-cooked - and in fact after tasting it, I agreed the fish was dry and tasteless! When the Manager came to clear our plates we politely commented, but no apology was forthcoming, she just said she'd tell the Chef. When the bill came (£150.00), we noted that only 10% had been deducted from each of our meals ie £1.80 and £1.65!!! We were hoping for an offer of a couple of free drinks, at the very least, but this was basically insulting considering the money we were spending! All I can say is it's left all four of us feeling dissatisfied and disappointed which is a shame as normally the food and service is very enjoyable and a place we look forward to visiting!

Perfect stop for a coffee. Lunch or dinner There are outside booths with heaters, great for individual dining with the dogs. Downstairs inside was lovely and warm, again full of dogs from blustery walks on the beach opposite. Upstairs was more refined dining (didn’t see any dogs) with beautiful views over the beach. Great food and service

We had Sunday lunch at this wonderful pub in a great location with fantastic views. The Sunday lunch was absolutely lovely and very well priced. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the place is also dog friendly. We would definitely come back here again , such a nice place with great food. The parking is limited outside the pub but there is a small car park 500 m away from the pub.

Great atmosphere and very friendly. Our dog (Leo) also loves this pub with its warm and cozy log burner. The staff are helpful and attentive. The food was excellent with good size portions. This is our second visit to Instow and it never disappoints. Thank you.

Family celebration meal. Super friendly staff, food came quickly, was plentiful, hot and delicious. We had 2 starters to share between 4 which we found to be just the right amount each. Two of our party had the mussels and both said they were delicious. The nachos portion was huge and tasty. We certainly felt valued customers and will definitely come again. Thank you

Great service from Hope. Lovely pub with views over the estuary. Portion sizes are huge (so factor that in then ordering). Delightful lunch so happy to return.

We were staying in Appledore & our cottage owners recommended The Instow Arms for Sunday lunch, it was fabulous. As a vegi I am sometimes disappointed with the vegi option but there were 2 & I can honestly say the nut roast was the best I’ve ever eaten. There were plenty of roasties & ample veg between the 4 of us plus vegi gravy. The others had the beef & the pork and also thoroughly enjoyed their lunch. Bonus it’s also dog friendly.

Lovely staff and lovely food, eat here quite often and never disappointed. We had just left another establishment because as a couple we were not allowed to sit at a table with a view as all tables for groups of four. Instow Arms have a good mix of tables and we were able to have lunch with the wonderful views of Instow.
