Very good omelette with side salad at a reasonable cost. Third time we have been.

A wonderful place to visit. The owner is a great guy, and his staff always, considerate, helpful, and efficient. The food and drink is good too.

This is an absolute gem of a place. Lovely, food, tea, coffee and great service. What more can you ask for.

Nice little cafe in the centre of town with an undercover garden. Busy when we visited, obviously a favourite of the locals.

Stunning garden area for eating, food was lovely and the staff were so

Nice place to go as it's a change from Appledore. Food is light and simple. But it is what we were looking for. The only negative is that the staff were suffering a bit as they seemed short staffed with the quota of customers they had and with the future customers that came in wanting lunch, they subsequently had to turn people away and give them a delayed time of when their food would be served. I found this slightly unprofessional and it was a bit unpopular with the folk that had come to see the secret garden at the back. This somewhat made the atmosphere feel a bit tense and manic and we felt rushed to finish our meal. I'm sure it is always a nice place to go but this time it was a mixed feeling with indigestion. It is a nice place. But we won't be returning sadly.

This cafe has a truely secret garden. Lovely seating indoors with the garden area a bonus. Some of the outdoor seating is covered good for shelter if its a bit wet or shade on those hot days. The food was great we had the cream tea, and sandwiches both very fresh. The staff were friendly and brought our dog a bowl of water. Would recommend a visit

Couldn't give stars for food only had drinks. Bit disappointed with secret garden as it stayed secret from us as only people ordering food could enter it... ?‍♂️ O

I popped in to the Secret Garden Cafe hoping to have a light lunch with my daughter for a special treat - we had been given a £15 voucher to spend and had been really looking forward to our visit. However, it was not the lovely lunch we were hoping for… When we went in, there was a bit of a wait for a table. One of the waiting staff popped out into the garden to see if a table was free there. The older man in the kitchen spoke very rudely to him saying a rather aggressive manner, “you should know if there’s a table free if you could only do your job properly!” The poor guy (who was probably only late teens) looked really upset. While we were waiting for a table, I chatted to another staff member and showed her my gift voucher saying we were excited to finally be able to use it as we had been given it for Christmas. The man in the kitchen then demanded to have a look at it. He said that we couldn’t possibly use the voucher as he only provides laminated vouchers and ours was just on a piece of paper. He implied that we had printed it off ourselves! He then questioned me (in a very abrupt and abrasive manner) for about 5 minutes via the female staff member, wanting to know where I had got the voucher and kept repeating that he only ever gives out laminated ones. I wasn’t really sure what to say! He then asked the female staff member to write down a note about the voucher in their book and take my name and phone number! He said I couldn’t use the voucher until “it had been investigated.” I felt like a criminal! It was also very embarrassing and uncomfortable as everyone in the cafe was staring at my daughter and I! I was then given a menu and told that someone would be over to take our order. I said no thank you, and we walked hastily out. I won’t be back. My auntie (who gifted me the voucher) has been conned out of her £15 so if you are considering buying vouchers from here as a gift, I would say don’t bother, as you won’t be able to use them!

Cannot comment on the food as we only popped in for coffee. It was the service that we found poor. Our order wasn't taken for probably 10 minutes although the waitress didn't seem to be rushed off her feet. The owner was negative and moaning about everything almost as soon as we walked in. Will not be returning.

This little gem of a cafe delivers on every level, well located, excellent food, lovely surroundings, excellent service and good value for money. Dogs welcomed too.

This little cafe is as its name state a little secret garden. The surroundings are beautiful in the garden. The staff are young but very efficient. The food was top class. Will definitely be going back.

We quite often pop in when the weather is good, so that we can sit outside and enjoy the lovely garden and food.Food is always good and I'd like to praise the young girls running the food and taking the orders. It's quite often very busy and very hot and they do an excellent job. There's always a little robin in the garden too.

We have had wonderful holiday to Bideford and everyone has been friendly and gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome .UNTIL THE SECRET GARDEN CAFE. Beautiful garden but the staff were awful. We had an 80 and 70 year old lady with us and instead of allowing us to sit on a table with 2 extra chairs they told us to move to a picnic on which thus ladies would not be comfortable. I asked why we couldn't stay there and the young girl said we could move 2 chairs for them so she contradicted herself , we decided to leave without ordering and was greeted with a sarcastic bye off the male cook and a we will cope without your custom off the young girl. I am fuming as treatment for anyone of this calibre is undesired but two wonderful mature ladies who have lived their life caring and being kind to others well its a disgrace. Anyone on holiday or visiting for the day please go somewhere else do not give them the time of day.
