Basically a nice cafe with hardworking staff. One way of assessing an enterprise is by how a manager behaves when things go wrong and there is a complaint. Clumsy.

Wed topped in here because the Cafe Du Parc was fully booked and was so pleased we did. The servers did a great job, their was plenty of space light and airy esp upstairs. And some nice GF

We came here for lunch and the food was so disappointing considering how expensive it is. We had two very basic meals which tasted - fine, certainly no better if not worse than what you'd get in Spoons. I've added a picture of the salad which was a very sad bunch of lettuce, a 1/4 of a tomato and one tiny cucumber slice cut in half. I believe that's what you get in return for paying the £2~ extra per item for eating in. It was also shocking how long the food took considering how empty the place was. It is a real shame because the cafe is well located and has a cute, cosy interior.

Lovely little café which we haven't visited before. We only had hot drinks and cake as we had lunch booked elsewhere.Cakes were delicious. Not much seating downstairs but there is more upstairs (we didn't go up there)We shall be back next time we visit Bideford ?

Huge potential; equally huge communication issues.Look, pasties shouldn’t be stressful, okay?Charmed by this, in all fairness, charming pantry, I decided to go and check out the gluten-free options. I know what you’re thinking: He’s one of these people who have a long list of complex preferences, the navigation of which he imposes on others and confronts with a tantrum when they’re not met (a ‘Karen’ or his male equivalent, if you will). Not the case - I’m just following doctor’s orders, and I’m a polite guy too.Inside, it’s a nice little corner of the world (human factors aside). There are several local products on sale, as well as a range of typically Devonshire food.I ordered a piece of carrot cake and asked if there were any steak pasties available. This alone took a good five minutes. On confirming that there were indeed some pasties left, I said I would take one.So, the minutes rolled by with no further communication from the staff. During this time I witnessed a member of said staff complaining to her counterpart about a customer. This is quite clearly ‘a big no-no’ in any public-facing business - literally amateur-hour- type stuff. On that, Jungian projection anyone? I often find that rude people evoke rudeness from others. Unfortunately, such people often cannot ‘see themselves’.I didn’t count the minutes, but I believe I was waiting around 15-20 minutes. It was possibly longer. After asking how much longer the wait would be, I was informed it would be “a matter of minutes” (forgive my scepticism regarding how much I ought to read into this!). I politely suggested to the lady that, in future, all they really need to do is mention that there may be a wait; it’s otherwise reasonable to assume that the pasty will be handed over more or less immediately. I furthermore mentioned that people have jobs to attend, and that this could be problematic for someone with a full schedule. The lady did apologise (though it would be a stretch to say wholeheartedly or sincerely). Her counterpart did the same, but was quick to give the excuse that the staff who are front of house don’t know what “them upstairs” are doing or if there is a delay. I mean, come on; YOU HAVE THE DIAGNOSIS OF THE PROBLEM ON YOUR OWN LIPS.It’s clear: Sort out communication and etiquette. For now, three stars is what you get since, after all, this was a three-star bargain-basement experience. It’s okay, but pasties shouldn’t be stressful.

Vegan sausage roll or pasty offered on board outside, which was exciting for one who has dairy and egg allergies. We went in and they kindly allowed our dog in. No vegan pasties available apparently when my husband asked, which was ok as we were rather late for lunch. However, the staff member didn't know what a vegan diet was! He had to explain so she could suggest something else, and got the impression the person wasn't really interested as she didn't offer anything. We just had a coffee. So disappointed that in this day an age with knowledge of allergies growing and being so important, that there was no obvious awareness. Ended up at Asda ?

Good late lunch snack and coffee.

I’ve been here quite a few times for breakfast this year, always enjoyed both the delicious food as well as the service and view - great portion size and produce for the price - I don’t tend to write reviews but a young man called Dylan made my visit extra special today, he was very kind and genuine. I loved this place anyway, but just want to give him the credit he deserves!

Aside from the staff being elsewhere, it is a lovely setting. The cream tea was excellent with lovely scones and lavish amounts of cream and jam. Good selection of cakes on offer.

Absolute appalling service. Ordered cappuccinos which took over 30 minutes to arrive and only after two reminders. What finally arrived was not what was ordered and the waiter had his thumbs on the rim of the cups as he placed them on the table. Despite this being local, I certainly won’t rush back.

Nice coffee and staff but unfortunately the worse pasties we'd ever had. Hard as nails the pastry, seemed stale. Hardly any meat in one of them. Very disappointing. We won't be back

Took nearly 20 minutes to receive simple food order and then each dish delivered one by one with a long wait between each delivery. Only ordered pasty, sausage roll, chickenq nuggets. Three of us had finished ny the time the nuggets had arrived. Won't be returning
