Lovely restaurant with attentive staff. Nothing is too much trouble, food was well cooked and homemade. Booking is recommended as it was busy. Children are welcomed and portion sizes are generous. Highly recommend the cheesecake.

The waiters are delightful and good humour!2 x garlic and cheese pizza bread (shared between x4)2 x Lasagne - WOW2 x Penne Nduja - WOWEverything was just beautiful.We holiday in East Devon twice a year and this is most definitely a place to visit for an evening meal.We’re from Stockport where we are spoilt for choice for good Italian restaurants but this place is most definitely one of, if not, the best Italian restaurant we have ever visited.Thank you for a wonderful evening of excellent food and venue.

Love it here. Food is always great. I loved the Garlic mushroom starter. Staff are always welcoming with a smile. There is a young tall chap that is so pleasant and serves us our drinks, however it’s confusing why he doesn’t take the food order? He has been there a long time and is more than capable. We live close by and frequent often, we are very lucky to have such a great restaurant on our doorstep.

We made a last minute booking for a birthday celebration and the restaurant was very accommodating. They even went to the effort of decorating the table for us. All the dishes were beautifully presented, tasty and very filling. My son had the lamb shank and said it was the nicest he’d had in any restaurant. My husband had the seafood platter - again very nice. The females of the group opted for pasta dishes that were all flavoursome. Having seen other negative reviews this was not our experience. The waiter was attentive and the service was good. We will return.

Dog friendly! My meal was served 5 mins after my husband's and his vegetables were 10mins after his lambcutlets, and only arrived after talking with the waiter. Food was very tasty.

Went for dinner and whilst everything was OK it was nothing special, just a very traditional Italian. We were left feeling a little underwhelmed. Service wasn't great, a bit slow, and we had to point out missed items, but it wasn't bad.
6 of us went to Marcos on a Saturday night having been recommended by a family friend. On arrival, our order was quickly taken and we ordered drinks and our starters and mains. The drinks arrived shortly after, however our starters had still not arrived within 45 minutes - so we politely asked the waiter for an update on them and he told us the kitchen was preparing them. 15 minutes later (and having watched the 3 tables around us who arrived after have their starters delivered) we once again asked the waiter where our starters were… it transpired they had lost the original check with all our orders on!! Needless to say we were not impressed one bit. However, the head waiter was most apologetic and provided us with 2 bottles of house wine. The saving grace was the food which was absolutely superb - generous portions and lovely tastes. Based on the food we would return as everyone makes mistakes and the waiters error could not be helped. Thank you Marcos for an eventful evening and the lovely food!

Arrived 19:30 on time. Ordered Drinks 19:35. Ordered Food 19:40. Enquired where is our Food 20:30. Food finally arrived 20:50. No apology for keeping us waiting from tall sombre front of house man just mumbled to himself. Lady behind bar ticked him off and still no apology from him. She however did offer complimentary drinks and thanks for that. Restaurant was virtually empty with two other younger waiter/waitress standing around. No excuse offered at all for delay. Front of House man needs a few more lessons in Italian hospitality skills and learn how to smile.

Fabulous food from a varied menu. Well presented, fabulous flavours and good size portions without leaving you too full for gelato. Enjoyed the choice of gelato flavours in addition to a selection of desserts. The service was excellent, even while training 2 new waiting staff on a busy Friday night. Careful attention to detail. The restaurant might be a little noisy for some, but I liked the lively welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend Marco's.
