****Updated 18/03/2024 they now a really tasty coked breakfast, piping hot, flame grilled bacon, under £7, and Alison our server really made a fuss of us and make us feel welcome! ****Great staff, very good value, well cooked and well presented. The only weird thing is Marstons free WIFi asks for you D.O.B but has no way to directly enter it, so you have to scroll back a month at time :-). I gave up after 249 presses so I'm 23 and not really 68...!

This Red Deer have the best chef and he or she produces great food. The staff are lovely and kind and nothing is too much trouble. The manager Carl is one of the best I’ve seen in a long time in hospitality! We pop there en route when going to Exeter and it’s our go to

Felt sorry for the guy on bar run off his feet but he did an excellent job on his own ? he said he was short staffed… disappointed with food asked for chicken started with no bar b q sauce but came out with it on … asked for Mac cheese plain as Mac cheese should be but came out with the topping on … I have a fussy teenager just didn’t want the added bits on likes things plain he did put it on the computer system but still came out with it on … it was just too busy for the staff maybe next time say no more for orders let the kitchen catch up or maybe they might do things as the customer wants … but the guy on bar was a really nice person give him 5 stars

Customer service was slow at the bar and staff were just not communicating with each other so we were waiting for food whilst someone else had theirs etc.Ordered some simple ice cream (2 strawberry and 1 chocolate -total of 3 scoops as per online order) and then received just the 2 strawberry. When we raised this we got asked "are you sure you didn't ask for chocolate sauce". Apologised after but show some awareness of your menu and don't insult your customers when you're the one who didn't read.Food was okay at best.Nice to have kids soft play etc, really helps.
