We travel to the New Inn regularly with our dog Max and we are always made welcome, with Max enjoying a sausage for breakfast and he is always offered dog treatsFood & drinks: Great homemade food

Stayed here and were treated like scum. Not dog friendly whatsoever! If a dog made a sound they were told to shut up!Rooms: Don’t bother.

Stayed at the New Inn for one night, only 25 mins from the sculpture school I was attending the next day. A lovely warm and welcoming pub, my room was spotless and recently renovated, an excellent nights sleep after a cracking pub dinner and a couple of pints. Breakfast was delicious, I will definitely be back and can highly recommend it. Very friendly staff, customers and owners.

What a superb pub! A friend and I came across it by chance out cycling today (a Tuesday), it was just after noon, we were very pleased to see the pub open and serving food. We both had a fantastic pint of cask Utopian Pale Ale which was in top condition (I am sometimes worried about the first pints of the day to get pulled through the lines, but this was excellent - obviously a caring landlord). Three other ales were on. There was a good selection of food available, we both went for the specials board: the New Inn Smokie - smoked fish, potato, garlic, cheese and cream with granary bread; and a homemade steak & kidney pudding. Both were really delicious and filling. Would have loved to stay longer but had more miles to do. Will definitely be back - many thanks!

Didn't eat there or stay, but a lovely pub. Very friendly staff and owners, and one funny parrot. Looking forward to going again.

The New Inn used to be my ‘local’ over 40 years ago. We were staying for a week in Dorset and decided to tag on a couple of days. The room was cosy and a very comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent and was a good start for the day. The owners were very hospitable and friendly. On the last night we met with school friends and their partners at the inn. Excellent dinner and good value. Lots of stories from school days. A really good visit - Thank you.

We stayed here on a Saturday night. We arrived in mid afternoon after the pub had closed but self check-in was easy. Our room was huge with a large comfortable bed and an equally large bathroom. It overlooked the beer garden but that wasn’t an issue as we were so tired from walking The Two Moors Way. The breakfast was delicious particularly the gluten free bread, the best my hubby has tasted. We would definitely stay again.

Friendly staff (I include Captain the parrot as staff) and the food was good. Children were catered for as I had the small portion of Fish and Chips. Worth going off the A roads to get to this village.

Excellent food even though the kitchen was closing. Friendly staff and great selection if local beer and cider.

Well run beautiful pub hotel, set in a quiet Devon village. Excellent food, drink and service. Can't recommend this place enough. Even if you are alone at the bar, you can have a chat with captain the parrot
