We ended up at this lovely pub, due to another one randomly being closed. The food is proper home cooked grub and lovely. The bar itself appeared to have mainly locals who were all friendly. There is also a pool table, which now is almost unheard of in a pub. We had the pizzas and they were delicious. We’re vegetarians, but one of us doesn’t have diary either and the staff catered for that, the best they could. The only thing I would say is that on the menu, there isn’t a great selection for anyone who is dairy free and even quite limited (nowadays) for a veggie, but the rest of the menu looked lovely. It is also dog friendly. Staff very friendly.

I've been trying to work out the best possible ways to make it easier to get the best out of the day ? ?

Booked Sunday Roast last minute the day before for 10 Adults and 3 little ones. Asked us to choose our meat (beef, pork or nut roast) in advance, which was totally understandable due to the size of the party. They sat us in a great spot, slightly out the way which worked well with the kids.We were bowled away! The quality and amount of the food for the price was amazing. Not only generous portions of full roast on our plates but also dishes of cauliflower cheese and roast parsnips brought to the table! Extra jugs of gravy too! Meat was wonderful quality and cooked very well. The staff were helpful, quick and friendly all with a very busy pub.Couldn’t recommend more!

Tucked away in Lapford, what a lovely place. The bar area was full of good natured locals. The restaurant area was also really full but the staff worked like trojans to keep everyone happy. The food is very reasonably priced and tasty. We will certainly be back.

The pub works well for both locals and visitors. We stayed on a Saturday night, the food and accommodation were wonderful. Breakfast was one of the best I've had with top quality produce cooked perfectly. Thank you.

We were on holiday from Norfolk and had seen signs for the Old Malt Scoop Inn so we went for an evening meal..the staff were friendly and attentive..the lady behind the bar informed us that we would have a little wait for food as there was only one person on kitchen duty. We were fine with that. We were shown to a table and she took our drinks order and took our food orders too. As it turns out the wait wasn't long at all. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our evening spent there.

Lovely pub. A couple of well kept local ales. Food was delicious. I had ham, egg and chips and the ham was so tender. No chewy bits, very very little fat just really good home grown ham! Good portions without being over the top. Definitely recommend

Nice comfortable room , good pub food , nice beer , friendly service and good value
Well what can I say... the very very best Sunday lunch I have ever had in my life and I'm 75 and have many Sunday roasts in my time. It was perfect in every way. The veg was so fresh, the cauliflower cheese was the best ever. The turkey and beef couldn't be beaten. Everything was superb. First time there. Pity it's over an hour from our home. I'm a very first eater and this was a traditional roast of exceptional quality and they're was plenty of it at a very reasonable price. The whole pub was packed and the staff were doing their absolute best under the circumstances and were very friendly and polite. Unfortunately we didn't have time for desert but it looked wonderful. I couldn't recommend The Old Malt scoop Inn, Lapford more highly.

Lovely village pub with character. Really lovely inside too, lots of different knooks/areas for either dining or just having a drink. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the menu was quite extensive. Lots of choice on the menu with a few extra ‘specials thrown in too! Seemed to be very popular, especially with young adults. Really enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend/return : )))
