This was our first visit but definitely not our last, it's a lovely pub, a good lunch menu selection, the lady was friendly and helpful, the food was good, we had a couple of the paninis, the prices are good, the inside of the pub is welcoming, plenty of spaces in the car park - a really nice pub to spend a Saturday lunchtime with a couple of pints!

Was staying local so thought we’d try here for a evening meal…the place was dead, two bar staff who was pleasant enough, the menu they have online wasn’t what they actually had available which was disappointing… we was the only people eating and after a lengthly wait I had the gammon which was okay my poor partner had a pizza that looked like it was a Iceland £1 deal..very poor quality and at almost £15 was severely overpriced, she ate most of it but said it was very basic and wouldn’t have it again…. The little lady/boy behind the bar kept staring at me which was very off putting when trying to eat- we wouldn’t revisit

Only popped in for a quick drink after walking our dog on Shoebrook Park. Certainly would consider coming back to try some food, good to see a small village pub on the ball. Lovely garden for when the weathers good, and a courtyard area. View is from the garden

I booked the red lion because we were attending a family wedding in nearby Harefield Barn. I booked two rooms. (Just in case you are thinking of going there are only three rooms so book early) Our room was very lovely for our two night stay. The hosts were very friendly. It’s a very quiet village in lovely Devon countryside. We used the bar facilities and had a meal there on Friday night. The food is nice and the staff are very nice too. Breakfast was great with lots of local produce. We have really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend if you are passing through or even looking for somewhere to stay whilst travelling through Devon. There is also the village shop within which is open the same hours of the inn. If you do stay and need a taxi do as I did and book well in advance. Overall a really lovely stay and fantastic value for money. If we are ever passing through we will go back.

A lovely local village treasure, we walked out to the Red lion for a roast and we were met by friendly helpful staff a log fire and great food and drink. The kids enjoyed playing on the pool table and there's even a small shop for snacks on the way home.

Can't fault the pub at all but the loud obnoxious people with the stinky dog behind us... dear God!!!

Excellent Pub and restaurant. Beautiful beer garden with views. Immaculately clean and top class food too. Adequate parking and right in the beautiful Devon countryside

Stopped here on the way down to Bude, avoiding a clogged motorway, and very glad we did.Had lunch of slow roast beef and aioli sandwiches on sourdough bread, which were lovely, washed down with a very nice local golden ale.

What a gem of a pub! The menu is well thought out with something for everyone, the grounds are beautiful and the service is incredible. Theres also plenty of outdoor seating and a large grassy area which is ideal for kids or dogs. Well worth a visit.
