Great experience from start to finish. They managed to find us a table for 7 despite us not booking, the staff were so friendly and accommodating - especially Debbie. Lovely food and drinks with good wait

Excellent food and drinks and you have the antique centre

I have a pint at the lighter every Sunday. Amstel £.5.35, expensive enough. Last time I went they had put it up to £.5.75. It is a nice pub in a nice spot, however the service is slow and I was shocked at the 40p increase. I’ll look elsewhere.

How much? A pint larger n lime club sandwich n extra fat triple cooked hot chips £19:40 ouch good job we both shared! The hienz tomato sauce was originally made ( not a refill jobbi)! The cap popped upon opening! That’s a first fir many pubs nowadays! The beer garden harbour with a lovely view interesting junk warehouse next door ! The pub bogs were exemplary and spotless! Which was a surprise due to the 4star in pub entrance windows clean ! So all on all? Good place to stop on a cycle onto river exe! Waitress was lovely n polite! But I only got a half full mayo paper cup ?

Ordered half a pint of lime and lemonade… and was charged a stunning £3.55 ( though ice, a slice of lime and a straw were generously included)…. My village local later asked £1.20 for the same drink. Obviously there’s a massive premium for a riverside drink. Shan’t go back.

Very disappointed with experience. We bought a round of drinks which came to £24 for 4. When we queried it. we were just handed a receipt and told, 'it was Topsham prices'! When we checked the bill we had been charged for 5 NOT 4 drinks!! We were credited but no apology, truly arrogant, lacking customer service skills. Food average. Wouldn't go again! We are local, so we know the local prices!

Hadn't been here for about 7-8 years. As it was a lovely day came and sat outside to enjoy the weather and some good food. Came for the roast beef which was a big let down, 2 small slices of chewy beef, 3 mini overcooked roast potatoes (been left warming for way too long, 3 tiny carrots, good sized Yorkshire pudding and a lot of gravy. Hence, for £16.00 each we won't be returning. Save your money and find a decent place to eat. We were going to have dessert but weren't going to be ripped off twice. So off to find dessert elsewhere.....

Great location. Nice outdoor seating area covered with heaters! We had a drink on our bike ride up the river.Only down side was one person serving on the bar who had to keep moving away to make coffee. Other staff didn’t step in.

The staff alone get this 4 stag review, especially a shout out to Beth, we had a wonderful time. Sadly the food was a let down to the ambience and service and stunning views. It's pub food that could be stunning with a bit more care, could be excellent. For example... sauce on burger left under lamp for far too long giving it a plastic look (also dubious bright orange colour!) steak tough, chilli con carne dry and bland. Sticky toffee pudding however... Really good. A simple menu that you could elevate in my view.

Stunning location - one of our favourite pubs and one which we have visited many times over the years. Have not eaten here for a while after a dismal experience with a bowl of soup which barely covered the bottom of the bowl earlier in the year. However, we decided to give it another go and I ordered the macaroni cheese which was described as being in a gooey cheese sauce. It was the worst macaroni cheese I've ever had and the gooey cheese sauce was non -existent - the whole meal was completely dry without a hint of sauce. From now on, this will be a pub to come to for drinks only which is a terrible shame.

I love this pub and the staff are lovely but the food let it down unfortunately, chicken was overcooked and chips not fresh and would of liked homemade coleslaw. As the prices arnt cheap. Will go again but just drinks .

Fantastic service with amazing food in a lovely location. Very accommodating to our needs with friendly staff, especially the lady in the white shirt. No rush to finish meal and nothing was too big a problem. Will be recommending to friends & family and returning again!
