The pizzas are exceptional. Tiramisu is a definite must have. The flavours are rich and silky. Overall, customer service is brilliant. I would rate it a 5+ if i could.

Dietary restrictions: This has to be the best gluten-free options in an Italian restaurant The garlic bread was amazing ( it was gluten free), better then anything I’ve had in Italy. The pizza and Carbonara were amazing too. If you are ever visiting Exeter, I highly recommend you visit this independent Italian restaurant. You won’t be disappointed

When we arrived at Sabatini, we were shown to our table with very little warmth or welcome.Once seated no one from the staff paid us any attention for a while, or came to take our drinks order. When the food came - we had the prawns to start which were tasty and probably the best and only highlight of the night, followed by two pasta dishes - the Nduja carbonara and the chicken and Gorgonzola paccheri. The carbonara was ok with a little spicy kick but is an uncomplicated dish. The paccheri was fairly boring with 3 small pieces of chicken, and little depth or richness of Gorgonzola in the sauce - the paccheri were also completely stuck together with the sauce hardly coating the majority. There was little interaction from the staff this whole time - however we were then suddenly told we had to leave as the table was needed in 15 minutes and our bill brought to us. To be honest we were pleased to leave! The atmosphere in the restaurant and the decor were perfectly nice - we also saw cheesy garlic bread and pizzas that looked nice so would recommend that to others if visiting. Ultimately would suggest choosing a different restaurant if you love your pasta and want to be treated as a valued customer. It was such a shame as we had high hopes reading reviews, always try to avoid restaurant chains and wanted to support an independent local restaurant.

Had a lovely meal at Sabatini’s and so pleased we ditched one of the chains for here instead. The ambience was excellent , the food delicious and good portion sizes. Service was also good and under no time pressure even though busy. Only downside was it took a while for the food to arrive but it was worth the wait. Can highly recommend.

We ordered pizzas, which were very tasty, friendly staff, and reasonably priced. After settling the bill, we received 50% off lunch vouchers to be used within 2 weeks. Will be back again.Dietary restrictions: The staff were knowledgeable about their products. I am lactose intolerant and they adjusted what I chose to suit. Thank you very much.

Popped in for an impromptu meal while out shopping over Christmas. The food was 1st rate and the service was excellent... attentive but not over the top.Dietary restrictions: Offer a gluten free pasta range. If you ask for a gf tagliatelle dish, you get spaghetti..but they make you aware of this beforehand.

A group of four of us came in December for lunch. The restaurant is conveniently close to the cathedral, but while the restaurant was busy it didn’t feel crammed. We each had both a main course and a dessert. Three of us chose the pizza- these were tasty and cooked well - no complaints. Most of us then chose the bread and butter pudding. This was excellent - and had a Christmasy twist. Service was efficient and pleasant throughout. All in all not bad. I’d probably return but wouldn’t necessarily rush back.

1st visit after friend recommended restaurant is nicely decorated, food was delicious my only criticism was pasta was very thick and sauce whilst tasty didn't quite live up to its description ,plentiful and well cooked chicken but the highlight was the desert I had the panna cotta which I have to say was one of the best I had outside of Italy. Service was efficient but lacked any personality and no check back!! however as a hospitality manager I am rather critical when I go out and notice more of the smaller details. All in all reasonable value, tasty food in a nice location and will return.
