“Seafood from the coast of Exmouth straight to your plate. This is what the website says and that is exactly what you get. Tucked away just behind the main street in Exmouth is this lovely seafood restaurant. A small bar and dining area downstairs with more dining and the kitchen upstairs. If you can secure a table upstairs you can see many of the dishes being prepared in front of you. The menu is as you would expect mainly fish with a meat option of steak. Starters are around £7-10 with mains between £28-32. My only slight grumble is that potatoes/chips and greens are all extra. At these prices they should be included. We were a party of 5 (6 is the maximum table size) and we all had really excellent and memorable food. One of our party was 90 and thought her fish was one of the best she had ever tasted. There is a good wine list with prices starting at £22 per bottle.

First visit on a busy Friday night. Quickly shown to our table and served drinks. Amazing menu and we chose all fish because that’s their speciality. Perfect wait between courses and not rushed. Incredible flavours and all cooked to perfection. Huge portions of fish and great balance of flavours.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening with great service and absolutely delicious food. I had a catch of the day and my husband had steak, all of it including starters and pudding were delicious. We were very well looked after and look forward to returning!

A truly amazing gastronomic experience. The 8 course tasting menu of fish from the coast around the southwest was inspired. Each course was beautifully presented and expertly cooked. The flavours that were combined to create the dish were perfect and superbly balanced. The highlight for us was the John Dory, although it’s difficult to single out any one dish as they were all delicious. The evening started with a welcome cocktail called Bramble on arrival, a delicious gin-based and fruit combination. There was a real buzz in the restaurant as all the diners (about 16 in total) were there for the tasting menu and the background music was not too loud for conversation but an excellent accompaniment for everyone to enjoy. The chef Darren and his wife Philippa were extremely friendly and have an excellent team working with them. The waiting staff were very professional, attentive and interested in what we had to say about each dish without being intrusive or obsequious. We will be back at the first opportunity!

Whilst it may be primarily a seafood restaurant (with an excellent twist, all being cooked over coals), I had the ribeye steak and it may have been the best steak I’ve ever had! Tender, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. Great ambience and service, a local gem.

I had seen a few posts on social media about this restaurant so thought we would give it a try. We were very pleased we did. Beautiful fresh fish served quite simply which is how fish should be served. Friendly greeting and service. Will definitely return.

Amazing food!!! Wow!! What can I say !! The menu is so different from anywhere I’ve eaten before, but all so thoughtfully put together. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, I had the lobster Mac and cheese and the monkfish and it blew me away! Our party also tried many of the cocktails which were also fantastic. The service was friendly and the staff make you feel really welcome and looked after. The best meal we’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be back!

We had booked a table for my husband's birthday but changed it last minute to add two friends. The staff were very accommodating and sorted it out quickly with no fuss. The food here was excellent and the staff took time to explain the menu to us. I had butterflied sea bass which was perfectly cooked. My pudding of lemongrass creme brulee was delicious. All four of us really enjoyed our food. The only downside was the noise from a group of men two tables away. They were obvious pretty drunk and got louder as the evening wore on. At times, we couldn't hear each other speaking. I know that this was not the fault of the restaurant but it did take the shine off an otherwise excellent meal.

What a fantastic meal for our large family gathering. The food was exceptional, children loved the oysters. A mouth watering selection of starters followed by perfectly cooked sea bream & salsa verde. The service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Playlist was perfect for the occasion. Thankyou barbecue13.
