The restaurant staff and front of house were welcoming and helpful. The food was ok we ate from the set menu which felt quite expensive but probably average for a Chinese eating in. The quality of the food was quite good and good portion size with some diversity in the menu. Lost a star for not having my favourite dishes ? . The restaurant is small and does feel somewhat cramped. If all the tables are full it is quite loud with people talking and waitresses calling to each other. That is the reason for the atmosphere score. Drinks are extremely expensive -again potentially not more expensive than other restaurants but seemed dear to me.

It was our first time trying China Garden in Exmouth and I must say it was fabulous,honestly very tasty food, the waitress was extremely welcoming,the speed of the food was a little slow ( I think it was a very busy Friday lunchtime for them ) but you could see how hard the waitress was working and always with a brilliant attitude, nothing was to much trouble for her and when the food came, honestly I have eaten Chinese literally all around the world, this was right up there, possibly even the best, extremely tasty, loads of quality ingredients, we paid £10 for a two course lunch, seriously unbelievable value for what they give you. What we found was very unexpected, a real gem of a restaurant, I had read the reviews which are good but I didn't expect such quality , especially for a relatively cheep lunchtime menu of only £10 for two courses. Thank you China Garden, we will be back again and again:)

Absolutely appalling service blamed on weather conditions, which in our area are currently incredibly calm. We waited an hour and half for our delivery only to find the wrong order had been put through. When I called to complain I was faced with a female at the other end of the line shouting and screaming at me. I have lived in Exmouth all my life and I WILL not be using China Garden in the future. Shocking service and shocking customer service. Absolutely disgusting.

We had booked a table so service should have been better. Was not impressed having to pay the service charge which was already on the bill.

Went for the set lunch, restaurant was quite busy but the waitress Abby had time for each table, she was very polite and attentive. It seemed like alot if the guests were return customer as they seemed to know her well. Food was good, plentiful portions but Abby definitely makes all the difference.
