The roast dinner is lovely, both owners Steve and Kerry were very welcoming to not only us adults but the kids, the kids loved Kerry and it was reciprocated, she was very family friendly and you could tell she was a mother. The owner Steve was a well respectable man as well.

Despicable food I had the liver and it was grey ,grainy and congealed the mash was cold but the veg was ok. My husband had the garlic chicken which was coated in raw garlic When I complained I was told it was one of their best sellers !! The man was rude to an extent that was unacceptable and I had to walk away. Just do not go there

(Family of 4, Friday 25th august 2023) Arrived at 11.50am and saw that it opens at midday so didn’t mind waiting in the front garden for 15 minutes. A lady went past us just before noon and entered through the back doors so we knew that someone from inside knew that we were there. However, at 12.10pm there was no sign of the doors opening. I phoned at 12.15 but there was no reply. At 12.20 we returned to the rear car park where you can also find overgrown stinging nettles , a dumped vehicle and a falling down shed. Whilst driving out we saw a DPD delivery driver making a delivery but no sign of anyone opening the doors.Another car (2 occupants) had also decided to leave as they weren’t prepared to wait either. We drove to Exmouth where we spent £30 having delicious cream teas , cakes etc. (Bumble Bee tea room is 5 mins walk from exmouth beach and well worth a visit).

We were staying at Haven, and this little gem caught our eye and I'm so glad it did. Very cute cottage style pub. Relaxed and very welcoming atmosphere. First visit was my partner and me (date night) My partners liver and oinion were pit of this world, cooked to perfection. It was so good we went back again with the family and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. Food was absolutely delicious and couldn't argue with the prices. We will definitely be going there next time in the area ?⛱️?Kid-friendliness: Children are more than welcome. They do great desserts, and the garden area out the front is great with children while waiting.

We came down from London to Devon for 1 week and this was by far the best thing we had done. We were talking to the lovely owners Steve and Kerry and we must have been talking for 2 hours, the service was quick, the scones with the cream and jam was absolutely beautiful, we then had a roast dinner in which the beef was tender, potatoes seasoned and crispy and the vegetables just as nice along with the Yorkshires which were beautiful. If you want either a pub or to get some good British lunch then definitely come here, the atmosphere was something else, they were very welcoming. This is definitely the best pub I’ve been to.Kid-friendliness: We had 2 children with us and Kerry was so nice and welcoming to them, I just knew she was a mother, she gave us all a hug and we had our little boy with us in which he wasn’t eating as he had Burger King and Kerry asked “Why’s he not eating do you want me to get him something?” Showing she cares and it’s not all about the money.

Had liver and onions with mash, my mum would have this as better than hers. #childhood. Cottage pie was out of this world. Kids loved the food, thank god. Missy was over the moon with her food. Been to haven on sand bay x3... Going again next year... Will be eating here again and again. Looking forward to it all ready. Thank you Steve, Kerry and staff. Top draw ref table 2

Really looking forward to cream teas and this place looked perfect. We entered the small dining room and waited. After about 5 minutes and man came out and said no dogs allowed. I tried to ask if someone would come out to us outside and take our order and he cut me off and told me again, no dogs allowed and get out!! There were no signs anywhere about dogs not being allowed and completely understand that this their business and decision but what is no acceptable is the rudeness and the very unpleasant way he spoke to me if front of my 2 young children.

What a day, It was by far the best cob and chips I have ever had and all and all deserves more recognition and praise, The staff where lovely and we had a good laugh, And to add to that the lad at the till was jolly and very bright. I will 100% be going again because it was such a unique and special experience. 10/100

OK so I can't avoid the fact the dining room is snug. But the food far from made up for that fact.It could do with a sprucing up to bring it in to the 21st century. But dining and food wise we had a lovely meal..would go back, and its worth giving a chance. As it's one of the more tucked away places..it may get over lookedBut lovely roast!

This place was recommended for cream teas; the scones tasted stale and were hard. The staff were real miserable, and more interested in a table of 8 that were eating 3 courses rather than us who were just a table of 2. No bye, thank you, have a nice day or anything when we paid, just took payment then walked away!

The outside of Tythe cottage looks quaint and inviting but please don’t judge a book by its cover The staff were miserable (apart from one girl who tried her best ) The food was horrible, mostly microwaved and that includes a roast And the poor fish in the dirty tank I would take notice of the one star reviews, you have been warned
